As with any ab device, be sure you try it first. Most of the time, plain old crunches work almost as well and best of all, they are free and can be done anywhere.

Also, if you are trying to lose weight and expect an ab machine to "melt the flab" -- I got news for you. Those devices only burn 50 - 100 calories (if that) a session. Meaning if you ate exactly the number of calories you need to sustain yourself, you'd lose about 1 pound every 35 - 70 days (3500 calories = 1 pound).

If you are looking to strengthen your abs, there are a ton of ab exercises you can do without a device (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.php?MainMuscle=Abdominals). If you are trying to lose weight, skip the ab machine and start monitoring your calories and take up a better activity that burns more calories (running / weight lifting / swimming, etc).
