In Hawaii, people pay the highest prices for milk. For example, a half-gallon of milk costs about $4.49 plus tax for local milk like Foremost or Meadow Gold at Foodland. At Sam's club, a gallon of milk is $3.36 plus tax. I've seen people returning the milk due to spoilage, shipping this product from the mainland, or allergic reactions to the product. Some people have sensitive digestive tracts that cannot drink certain product. I am allergic to Viva milk. Commissary they sell milk for $2.59 a half-gallon of Meadow Gold.

Ethanol is contributing to the upward push in dairy expenses. extra corn is getting used to offer ethanol, consequently making use of up the cost of feed for cows. @seamstress, until gasoline expenses went loopy some years in the past, milk continuously cost extra per gallon than gasoline did. as an occasion, in 1996, the common cost of a gallon of gasoline became into $a million.11. A gallon of milk became into $2.40-one.
