Immigrant rights are at the bottom of the priority list for politicians of all races and both political parties because until someone can vote, or unless they are contributing to a politician or the national party, they are just not important enough to warrant consideration.
Its a sad fact of politics, the priority list looks something like this:
1. Special Interests and Corporatoins that give to national, state parties and major candidates campaigns;
2. Voters who make contributions;
3. Voters who vote
4. People who are registered and may vote if enraged enough
5. The rest of the rabble

Why have so many non-Black immigrants been slow to except the impact of Blacks during the Civil Rights movement. The Blacks that sacrificed themselves for the Civil Rights movement ,which benefited Asians, Hispanics and women,don't owe immigrants anything. Whites Only back in the days meant Whites Only. No Hispanics or Asians. The Equal Opportunity Act ,that effects hiring practices and on and on. If immigrants want aid from the Black congress people, let them dig in their pockets and pay for a lobbyist. That's the American way.

The question is great evidence of the ignorance. He tries to equate the civil rights activists of the 1960s with the ILLEGAL immigrant movement in the US today. NOT the same bud.
Blacks of the 60s = law-abiding, tax-paying, U.S. citizens.
Illegal immigrants of today = Not law abiding (as the title would suggest), do you think they pay taxes? Not U.S. citizens
HUGE difference. Black democrats see it - why dont you?

BEcause they don't like ILLEGAL aliens taking their jobs or getting benfits they can't. And they don't like their wages being depressed any more than whites and many people of Mexican heritage that became citizens and are treated badly because of the invasion now taking place from sotuh of the border. Do you know the f-ucked up California legislature just pased a bill that would allow ILLEGAL aliens who want to go to College here to get financial aid. Why should our tax money support grants for and illegal alien? If you come from Arizona or any other state in America to attend college here you don't qualify because you are not a resident of Californa but a person who crossed the border illegally can. What kind of crap is that. It is time to kick all of the career politicains who are taking special interest money and are being influenced by pro illegal groups out of office.

Because there is no comparison to the criminal activities of illegal immigrants and the struggle of African Americans for full civil rights.Illegals aren't suppressed in their country,they have rights ,you cant compare apples to oranges,maybe that's why.They don't like illegals coming here and making wages lower for Americans.Everyone wants to ride on the blacks coat tails,gays tried it and now the Hispanic.You just cant compare the struggle of Black American citizens to illegal criminals .

Barack Obama is pro-illegal alien.
The vast majority of African-American democrats are against illegal immigration and want our laws enforced and also legal immigration drastically reduced.

How about because there are more Hispanics and Blacks and the blacks are now consolidating their political ground and refuse to speak about immigrant rights.

Why should anyone be fighting for any rights of illegals? They have no rights in this country, or shouldn't. All they have done is break out laws and then want us to welcome them with open arms. If they want rights, let them come the legal way and they will have them.

They couldn't find a way to profit politically from changing their positions. Not to mention that the average black person in the US is not wildly excited in a positive way about illegal immigration.
