Australia all the way.
I love Perth but have been to all of the major cities.
The Coats north of Sidney is awsome with beaches and a rain forest.
Have some sausage and cabbage to get Germany out of your system..then head to Austrralia.

im travelling round oz next yr so cant say bout that, assuming its stunning!
But i have been all over Germany and I love it sooo much im planning to live there eventually! was in Hamburg for 8 months. The music scene is fab, good gigs everywhere and The Reeperbahn is a fab red light district where i felt far safer than in England. Not the most 'German' feeling place though.Apparently refered to as little london!
The scenery is amazing in the Black Forest and for the best vantage point head to Freiburg where u can take a cable car to the highest point...stunning! Munich is classic germany- outdoor markets with people in Lederhosen a norm! For a contrast Berlin is just great (i wana live there!) The feeling is very continental and very eclectic to say the least. Berlin Sunday breakfasts are to die for! hope this is of some help!

Weather in Germany is cold and dreary.
The people in Germany are cold and dreary.
I've been to Germany, my ancestors are from Germany, and I'd love to go back. Myself, I'd rather go to Germany than to Australia, but I have reasons to. If you're just looking for a vacation spot, I think you'd find Australia a much warmer, sunnier, fun place. There's lots to see. And the people are warm, sunny, and fun.
Good luck with your choice.

Deutschland is schoen!
Deutschland, Deutschland ueber alles!
Seriously, Germany would be the better choice if you had to choose right now, hands down.
HOWEVER! One thing: since the seasons between Australia and Germany are the opposite, plan a vacation to see both - on their traditional "high seasons."
For example, Germany in July is beautiful -- Australia is best visited during the winter months (in the US calendar) since they are enjoying summer.
So see them BOTH! Just plan a vacation around the right season!
Happy traveling!
Gute reise! ;-)
(lived in Germany for many years and have an authentic, old-world, German husband - JA JA JA!)

I`ve been to both and I cant beleive I`m saying this but germany was la la land and a fairytail.I`ve been around the world and I thought it was the best country in the world. It is clean ,safe and very very organized.Everything runs on time all the time, everything there is way ahead of time and modern ,its not all old fashion and backwards like you see from history.Bring your best city clothes because if you look like a dirtbag your gonna get stares. You dont need a car.I almost got married there because the women treated me like a man and not a wallet or piece of meat.If your a single woman you may not like it because the men there are traditional and intelligent but they drink alot of beer. Austrailia is a place for people who like scenery and beauty. It reminds me of the western states ,,,so if you want a piece of austrailia just go out west here in the states.

Both are beautiful, but totally different from each other..... Germany has old culture, is gorgeous really...... but Australia is soooo interesting.... you will just need to plan in travel time...distances from one end to the other are big
