Yes! I am a middle child. You feel like you get treated differently when you are younger because they still all the attention from you and you get hand me downs. But when you get older you realize that you are all individuals and the age thing goes away.

I was a middle child. I do not know about differently. The first child usually is a bit wild because parents do not know how to be a parent, therefore, at least in our house hold the middle children had stricter discipline because our parents did not want us to be like the oldest. But by the time the younger children cam along they were to tired to discipline them.

Yes, I have 2 sisters that are younger than I am and I have 2brothers and 5 other sisters that are older than I am. I don't know we did not live in the same house nor with the same family. The only time we all were in the same place together was when our mother passed away 6 years ago.

I am "the baby" but trust me....my sister is the middle child and she has always said she is treated differently. I hear it all the time. We are all in our 30's.

Yes sorta. I'm between two sisters....but I had older brothers, so technically, my older sister is the middle child.

Anyway, my sisters and I seemed to be set apart from my brothers...and so I always felt like the middle child. I was really only the middle sister.

How did it affect me? Well, I wasn't like either of them. I was quieter, and shyer....and was often over-looked because of these two traits. I'm still like that in many situations, but thankfully, not all.

I've learned to stand up for myself when it's needed, but I do it as carefully as I can. My husband requires a little more aggressive approach...so he really does bring it out in me. He's not abusive, just confident and very proud of himself. So he tends to think he is always right. But he isn't. Before I married him, I didn't know I had it in me to be aggressive to anyone. So he is teaching me something.... is it a good thing? Sometimes it is. I have to be confident about the way I feel, or I can't stand up to him.

I really admire my younger sister. I really admire both of my sisters. But her specifically. Probably just because she has always taken the time to listen to me in good times and bad. My older sister is in her own little world. And my brothers... hmmm? that's another issue entirely. My older brother vanished off the face of the earth, and my next to the oldest.... he is barely making it in life. But I pray from him daily. I think he is doing better than he was a year ago. But I could be wrong.
