It means absolutely nothing. The bible was written down by men, and of course, its like the "telephone" game we played in gradeschool, by the time it got to the last person, it was completely different, people are not perfect, either were the guys who wrote the words in the bible...they put their own twist on things, like inventing the devil to get folks to come back to church because the coffers were empty.
