I'm not so sure... I had two kidney stones and neither one of them was accompanied by a large blood clot. I had abdominal pain on and off for about a week, only at night. For the first one I actually had to be rushed to the ER because I was in so much pain I couldn't stop throwing up. You should really get to a doctor to check it out. Good luck!

I have had several and I have never had blood while passing it during urination, usually you will have sever pain, (the pain usually last 4-6 hours) prior to passing it, the pain is caused from the stone passing from your kidney to your bladder through your urethra. The stone may sit in your bladder for several days before it actually gets passed or may come out the next day. the stone looks like a small mace it is very jagged and crystal like.
The doctor wont be able to tell you if you have passed one unless you take it in in most cases. Good Luck

I had a kidney stone once and did not pass blood. I did however pass blood when I had an ulcer and was hospitalized for it. They had to put me out and cauterize them. GO TO THE DOCTOR or the emergency room at the hospital.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Certainly sounds like a stone, however, there is not usually a large amount of visible blood in such instances, which indicates one of two things are possible, first, internal damage to your urinary tract, or a raging infection....you'd best see a doctor ASAP..

Yes, that is what happens to me. You really should consult your doctor though because by passing blood the stone may have gotten lodged in your urinary tract for a while and may have caused infection.

No matter what it was, you better get to the doctor. Doesn't sound normal. And I don't know people who pass them with blood involved - it is usually the stone by itself.
