It's program to recognize students with great academic record or even athletes or kids that are in a lot of activities. You get your name in the paper and it looks good on your college resume'. It costs you nothing unless you want to buy the book with your name in it. We did it for our son but didn't buy the book.

If you have been nominated then I would definitely sign up to be a part of it. It does look good on resumes, etc. However I really would not spend money on the book. It really is just a list of names, most of whom you do not know at all. Who knows though; maybe some companies or schools buy the book and it could help you to have your name in it. But save your money for sure!

It is nothing more than a book that suckers fools into sending in money to be in the book (there are 'poetry awards' etc like this too. It's more lilke a who's who of suckers. No actual successful high school students are in it - see the winner of the westinghouse (intel) science award in there? 50$ is the price of vanity and idiocy.

Haha, it is a joke, I was an A,B and C student and I got invited to be in that thing, I think some coach referred me, They say it is based on grades but i think it is for sports to. just think that if a teacher likes you they can nominate you if they want. but other than that, they just want your money so that you can buy there oversized book of other students around your state that are also smart. I stuck it on my college application, along with my 150 dollar schollarship, haha,

It's pretty much a gimmick. They put the names of higher-achieving students in a book, hoping to sell lots of copies to parents, grandparents, etc. There's really no advantage to a student. Keep in mind, last I heard, you could send in your listing (so yes, you're listed) and not buy any copies, but that may have changed.

It's mostly a vanity press designed to make money by convincing students and parents to buy large books.
Don't be fooled.... but don't let that make you feel like you don't have enough accomplishments.
