I feel the same as everyone else that has answered your question. Age is a big factor honestly i think that shouldn't even be thought of until the child is 16-18. I mean what if u do try it and u talk ur daughter up so high and she loses a pageant or a modeling agenc is looking for a different look or someone starts to give u constructive criticizim. Are u ready to put ur pride and joy through that pain and do u think u could handle doing that?!! Even with kids in modeling its not all peaches and cream they are hard on the little ones too! Ur risking eating disorders at an early age and everything else that comes with the package deal! i would say u should seriously rethink the idea and if u do decide that u should wait thats great!!! For your daughters sake, but if u think thats something u and your daughter are ready for id say contact a modeling school agency and talk with a rep about options and explore the whole world you would be introducing your daughter too. ie: John casablanca there are several u can search online and also every now and again agencies travel posting conference time and dates open to public

Don't listen to the people bashing you. Working in the entertainment industry for some years now, I say to try it out and see if it's something that you BOTH want to pursue. Notice I said BOTH. Your kid has to be into it or they will resent you for it.
I'm not sure what city you are in but beware of agencies that ask you for money...You should never have to pay for anything from them...if they are up and up, they will make around 10% off of your paying jobs. You will need to start a photography portfolio but again, beware of using the agency for these as this is just another way they make money off of you. DO NOT go with an agency that offers modeling lessons. You do not need modeling lessons...that's a bunch of BS and again, a way for them to make a lot of money off of you.

Hi, make a profile for your kid. Have a good photographer take his / her photos wearing different costumes (decent ones). Then write a page of her details, her likes and interests.
Find an agency and get their references - TV, other advertising they have done.
submit your kid's portfolio. Followup to see if they have any TV advertising jobs for your kid - GAP, OLD NAVY etc
Sometimes you have to start with smaller companies and work your way up. Be there for her, give her tips, be her manager. If you have money you can hire a good manager who keeps in touch with her contacts, keeps her correspondence up to date, etc.
Read on books - child modeling and modeling agencies - what they prefer. Study books on child fashion. Research. Mainly don't let your child wear revealing clothes. You are asking for trouble.
Have your limits and policies. Also, don't get too greedy. Those are pitfalls to avoid. Best of luck.
Contact me if you want me to help you design a portfolio. I do graphic designing and can make a portfolio for your kid. I am planning to do that for my 7 yr old son myself.
