There are so many kids in this world who are in orphanages that have no families, yet if you want to help, and maybe raise a few of them, you are charged ridiculous amounts of money, like $10,000 a kid. There are 25,000 kids a year in the Ukraine alone who become orphans, and it seems strange that only rich people are allowed to help. Any input?

Okay... First of all you might want to start by refraising you question, it sounds a little like, i dont know, diabolical? It just sounds weird is all. Now, if you really want to help, try adopting children that are not going to cost you. And yes, i does sound strange that only rich people get to help, but i guess they are just trying to make sure that the orphans get a bright future, if a child goes to a rich family, the child is more likely to succede in life, better chances of them going to college and stuff.

Technically, you cannot "buy" children. Yes, there are fees involved with adoption, but it is not the same as "buying a kid" which is illegal. You might want to check out the Yellow Pages in your city under "Attorneys-Adoption Law". A lawyer may be able to help you find out more about adoption fees. You will need a lawyer to draw up all the paperwork for an adoption anyway. By the way, adoption fees are tax-deductible.

It is definately Bull! My wife and I have actually been thinking of adopting.... though we have been leaning more towards an American child (for there are so many needing help here in the US), but the cost of just meeting up with any, just blows it away! We have 3 kids and would like a 4th, but it just isn't financially feasible in this day and age for a blue-collar worker to afford to help anyone but themselves.

There are many adoption beneficiary places that give you grants and matching funds if you are raising money to adopt. Some employers, also, will contribut to adoption fees. Check around. Personally, I think anyone willing to adopt should be able to do it for free, but then you have issues with people who will enslave the children or abuse them or use them for sexual purposes. I guess astronomical fees keep it to the really serious people.

That idea seems sickening if it were to happen. But many charities I've heard of aren't like that at all. Now sit down and shut your mouth unless you know for sure what you're talking about.
