Without knowing a thing about you, I would at this stage have to pick somewhere I like going, and hope you did too (such as Kew Gardens, Covent Garden, a few bars in Soho, or somewhere on the Thames).
However, if I did know you, and realised that you wouldn't appreciate any of these places, I wouldn't want to take you out at all because we wouldn't have much in common.
As for expecting something in return, if you are talking sex, then it isn't a case of expectation at all. We'd both know within an hour if that was what we both wanted, and if not, I'd expect friendship assuming we had a good time together.

I'm married, but there isn't a thing wrong with pretending.
I assume this is our first date, and I can dream up any scenario I want.
I would pick you up early that morning, and take you to some quiet little coffee shop where we could just talk, and get to know each other a little bit better.
Then I would have us go on a scavenger hunt together in some residential neighborhood. I would compile a list of odd offhand items that we would knock on peoples doors and ask for. When we were through we would use all the items we were able to track down to make a piece of art, like a collage.
Then we would jokingly take our work of art to different art museums in town, and ask each of them their opinion of it, and if they would be interested in buying it, or if they would consider hanging it on their wall (and we would do this with a straight face of course). We would then act very offended, and angry if they wouldn't purchase it.
Then, I would take you to a fancy clothes store. I've had you try on all these different outfits, and I would take a picture of you in all of them. I would then buy the outfit for you that you liked best. We would then go get our pictures developed, and have lunch somewhere.
After that, we would take a dance class together in the afternoon. We would then go to a restaurant that evening that featured belly dancers. We would then sneak some booze into a movie theater and get plastered while watching Trainspotting. To end the evening, I would take you to a small, smoke filled bar where The Pogues would be playing, and Shane MacGowan would be screaming like a banshee.
I would then walk you home (because we would both be to drunk to drive), give you a hug, and say goodnight.
The reward for me would be knowing that you had a good time, and that we made a few fun memories together.

When I see you, how you look, how you dress, how you act, then I'll make my mind up in a flash where I'd take you! Never mind the zoo bit, thats only for creeps trying to get ideas about mating into your head! I'd take you dancing or to the theatre or maybe just for a stroll around the lake in the city! The only thing I would 'expect' is an invitation for a second date!

No where fancy on the first date. we would have to progress,if we were compatable.Maybe a movie for the 1st date.If I were buying I would expect at least a thank you.I do not date hos,if I expected something that is basically what I am making my date If that makes sense.

hmmm lets see ... I've always been fond of watching the sun rise on the beach, maybe walk the board walk for a bit grab a bite to eat at a small cafe and get to know who I just spent several hours with ** silly grin** and I expect nothing in return this way I am never disappointed but often delighted

I'd take you to the Cango Caves. Its monumental stalactites and stalacmites will impress even the most jaded of ladies. I think that if a woman wants to reward my kindnesses I will be grateful, but I won't expect it.

i would take you to dinner at a restraunt, i dont know which one just depends on what were in the mood for. then maybe a movie after that maybe just talk so we can get to know each other more personally and then i would drop you off at home and hope that i would get a goodnight kiss, and maybe make plans for the next date if we liked each other. this would happen after i drop a pill in your drink. lol just kidding
