to know the correct answer, you need to ask her directly. there aren't enough details for us to decipher the way she acted. But personally, i think she was just genuinely talking about the other girl. why would she imply such things anyway? she doesn't gain anything in that.

Unfortunately with a woman she could be talking about anything, including herself.
If this was a lengthy conversation there are probably other clues that were missed that pointed exactly where she was going.
With what you've explained, you'll probably never know. And if your friend has no feelings that he could ever be gay, he shouldn't really care if she was implying towards him because she would obviously be wrong.
With gay people, that gay-dar thing really does exist, once you've come accustomed to what you're looking for.
Be cool.

I think she just thinks of him as a close friend that she can confide in. I have some of those friends that tell me things that KNOW I'm not gay. I think he is just being parinoid about what other people will think of him for being friends with a gay person. I believe she is just a friend and that if she thought he was gay would have just said so.

are you yourself the buddy that your asking about? All this he said she said...I think who ever is worried about what she implied is just worried about how he comes across to other people...Sometimes if your worried about something it makes you act unnatural and self conscious...i don't think the girl was referring to "him" i think "he is self conscious for some reason or another...Either real or imagined...if this person is truly worried they should ask them selves "WHY" homophobic or really maybe gay and doesn't want anyone to see that...i would go for a counseling session to see where "his" fear is stemming from" I always think a counselor by phone would be great but i don't know of any, maybe you could ask some one on this sight?

She is talking about the chick, but if he wants to make sure, tell him to ask her if she thinks he could pass for gay.

I'd say she was probably talking about some gay chick. It seems like if she meant him, she'd just say it. Tell your friend not to worry...besides, who cares what someone thinks of him as long as he knows what his sexuality is?

Why doesn't he approach the person and ask .. and in addition does it really matter what the person thinks - as long as he knows his own standing.

He needs to ask her if he has any questions.
It sounds like she was really just talking about her friend. Perhaps your friend has been having homo/bisexual thoughts and feels guilty. Therefore, even something that has nothing to do with him can bring out this guilt.

Ask her about her "gay friend" get a name and details. It should be obvious if she's inventing someone.
You could, of course, ASK her point blank if she was talking about your friend. Honesty is always good.
