i love this country is some respects, my family, camping, and the fact we live by the beach. but we hate the goverment, taxes, high house prices, petrol, etc etc. mainly the fact that this country keeps letting so many 'other cultures' in that we feel unpatriotic anymore and this country is letting us brits down. we are seriosly considering leaving, but where to? like i say camping and beach and lots of coutry parks keep us here is there anywhere similar to the uk but not the uk! we dont mind weather as long as it aint no worse than here. any reccomendations?

why am i a racist exactly, i dont mind some other cultures i just dont think letting them in, in streams is being fair to those who live here. as when they get here they go to the council and say they are offended because my house has a st georges cross flying and i have to take it down in my own country how is that right!

If you leave the UK you will become one of those "other cultures" that you don't like. I'll have to concur with the US or Australia because they would be similar to what you already know as far as language, food, clothing, etc..or how about Canada, though I hear their taxes are very high too.

If you really LOVEed the UK you'd stay no matter what. Your statement about infiltration of 'other cultures' is ironic given the history of the British Empire. Remember India, Mesopotamia (now Iraq),Eygpt, Ireland and many other unfortunate parts of the world that had to imbibe British culture? After you have pondered on that for a while don't come to Ireland where house prices are even higher than UK's and 'other cultures' abound.

The Canary Islands. Duty free, cheap fuel, no heating bills year round. Council tax just 130 euros. car tax about 130 euro. Sun 12 months a year. about a week of rain a year. 12 cans of cheap beer for a pound or 3 for a pound at premium prices. Brandy 6.50 euros. Sandy beaches, warm water, nudist beaches.
Oh I could go on for ever.
I made the move but hey I don't want the place to become too crowded. Perhaps they are right go to America or Aussie. Only kidding!!

When considering the taxes and how much it costs to live there, think about what would it be like where you want to move? Most nations on the same "civilization level" of comforts and government services as you enjoy will either have the same taxes, or less services and comfort as you enjoy now. If you are a survivalist and can live without the aid of any government services, then your problems are solved. There are places where you can relinquish your UK citizenship and live without a care in the world.

Everywhere is like that now I think. I would say Canada but there are some of the same problems. We are supposed to bend over backwards as not to offend the people that have immigrated to our country. I left and am now in Denmark. It is expensive and with high tax but they pay well here and you see a lot for your tax dollars. They do have immigrants but they don't let them walk all over you here. I would also concider Austrialia, they have gotten really strick about immigration. If you did go for Canada though you should go for Vancouver Island. It is beautiful and very British. Victoria is just amazing and good weather. I think of it as expensive but it isn't near as expensive as the UK.
I totally understand where you are coming from. In all these "great democratic" countries we are losing more and more control over our lives and have no say in anything.

Australia, tell them I sent you. They particularly enjoy listening to stories about how good things really were back in Blighty and like to moan about flys, hot weather and such like.
Unless you have a million £ or $ just forget America you need to spend $1000 just to get a green card even if you did marry an American, otherwise it's impossible.

I concur with your sentiments on losing a sense of Britishness. The thing is, if you emigrate and choose to retain your culture and ideals, you may actually be in danger of causing the same angst that you are feeling in that country. You need to be prepared to accept and adopt the culture of the country you wish to reside in (unlike Britain seems to manage). If you go to Sweden, for example, they will insist that you conduct yourself according to Swedish culture... ie. you become Swedish.
It sounds like Australia is your ticket. But be prepared to become an Auzzie!

I definitely would recommend you stay out of the United States if you are narrow minded enough to think that "letting in other cultures" is a bad thing. Go to Antarctica where you wont be able to influence others with your better-than-everyone-else mentality.

The Baleric Islands, but you must have something to offer to exist. Lots of Brits settled in Majorca and Ibiza.

USA because you can have dual citezenship automatically if you're from the UK. Also, your accent will make you seem very smart and attractive to Americans -- we love Brits in America!
Gas prices are very cheap here compared to UK, and there is a lot of land and any weather depending on what state you're in. Also, taxes are very cheap too compared to the UK.
