YES, There is no such thing as a dog that is hypo-allergenic. I learned that from my allergist. Even hairless dogs have some fur. People are allergic to dander and fur and any number of things.

I love animals ( I am allergic to everypet known) and I work at a vets as well as in a petsmart, so what I have done is go to an allergist and I am on flonaise as well as claritin as needed and I do just fine.
Good luck! :-)

Sure. Even dogs and cats billed as being "allergy free" can cause some people's allergies to respond.

The Bichon Frise has a reputation for not shedding as much hair as many dogs, which is why it's reputed as good for allergy sufferers. If you're thinking of getting one, it might be good to share your concerns with the person who presently has it and see if you can spend some time around it before committing.

Best of luck!

Yes - There are two coat types that produce a lesser amount of allergens: single-coated dogs, who do not have a thick undercoat, and hairless dogs. However even hairless dogs can produce enough dander to to affect a highly allergic person.

There is no such thing as a hypo allergenic dogs!!

Yes you can be allergic to their saliva or dander. They are considered good for allergy sufferers because their have hair as opposed to fur. They are awesome dogs, too.

Yes. They are less likely to cause allergic reactions than most other dogs, but you can still be allergic to them.
