Nobody has put point on this...Are you married or planning on getting married? Do you want this family. It's not your money anymore. You don't get to split the bills and go dutch. You guys are in it. You do need to be more responsible. Playdoh though, not a big deal. You didn't go out and buy a TV or a car for Petes sake. Just realize that your baby's mother wants everything perfect. The child isn't even born yet and you bought something that will probably dry up before the birth. I bet you anything, if you bought a really cool toy that was for the baby that was $50.00, she would think differently. You are doing this for the first time. We all do things differently. These people telling you that you are an idiot, didn't just spill out something that they did. I bet if they were honest and put their dirty laundry out on the line, they would be more respectful to a new father. Who, by the way will have to learn everyday for the rest of his life how to raise a child and when he dies, he still won't know. You're doing fine. We aren't all the same. I bought so many things for my baby before she was born. Keep them as small as that and you'll be fine. See what your girlfriend buys next. Trust me, she'll buy something that makes no sense for the present time. Good luck and conradulations!!!

Yeah...in fact you need to be saving a LOT right now, or buying things a little at a time...FOR THE BABY. If your girlfriend is passed her first trimester, chances are excellent there won't be any complications. I would buy the crib, nursery furniture, changing table, bottles, clothes, diapers, diaper genie, emergency supplies, toys, stroller, car seat, etc. NOW and just save receipts for everything until the baby is born. If you do it a little at a time it won't be as painful as it would be if you wait until baby comes and have to buy it all at once. Also, this gives you time to look at store's clearance sales, yard sales, newspaper ads, personals (where people might be giving away a lot of this stuff)...a pack of PlayDoh might buy some baby food killer.

For the $$ investment I don't think this is a huge issue. But if you're old enough to be a parent it's time to stop playing with Playdoh.

I say no. It's not like it was a hundred dollar item you spent money on. (at least I hope when you say you "bought a bunch of it" you didn't mean $100+ worth lol) Toys are cool. She just needs to accept that guys just DON'T and probably never will act as mature as most women want them to. (And I'm sure it gets worse when the kids come! :P ) A "splurge" on something stupid once in awhile isn't all that bad. Hopefully you are saving up some for the baby though.

well honestly, you are gonna a be a parent soon and it takes alot of
money to support a child. Also u have to remember her hormones
are out of wack so she may be prone to over reacting. She may be very stressed and worried about money and you buying playdoh
trigured stress more. U do need to buy a crib and baby furniture
maybe start a savings account for future furniture they can't sleep in cribs their whole life.
Sit down and talk calmly with ur gf and get things straight.
And good luck.

I think you should be using your money wisely at this point. Not spending it on toys or play-doh. Come on man, if you can be a "big boy" and get a girl pregnant, then you can be a man and support your family. Secondly, I would invest in hitting the spell check button at top. You are lucky you are with the person you are with. If I were her I would have told said you were immature and you and the play-doh whould be on the street. Good luck to your girlfriend! :)

Well if you have a child on the way then YES spending money on play dough is a little childish and immature.

You are soon going to discover that babies are not cheap. They are very, very expensive and it is going to take every penny that you make and can save up in order to support that child.
Right now you should be focusing on getting crib, newborn clothes, diapers, bottles, blankets, and all that good stuff that your child is going to need.

Once you check out the prices of these stuff you are going to be shocked......lol
Especially for diapers and formula.

It depends on your situation. Could that $2-3 dollars have really been used for something you need, or are you all set up for the baby with extra $ for emergency? If you are not all set up, then maybe it was unnecessary. Perhaps mold her a playdoh rose bouquet in apology.

You have a pregnant girlfriend and you bought Playdoh. You're a moron, if your girlfriend is pregnant, you need to grow up and start learning some responsibilities. Parenthood is not about you. Save your money for your child....you child.

Yes you could have saved the money for a crib or something like that but the kid also needs something to play with or do something to entertain the baby so he won't be bothering or crying all the time because he doesn't have anything to do
