Thank you all for all your answers. I found a website called cooking 911 and the Purdue people said that when you open a package of meat sometimes you can smell a sulfer smell that goes alway in a few minutes. I threw alway anything that had a smell after I wash it; then I cooked it for 40 minutes in cream of chicken soup. and then teased fine so I ate a little and gave the rest to the dog and cooked a steak. No sence in taking chances. Now I have a little head ache, probably from worrie.

Thank you, again. (sorry no spell check)

If they don't have any discoloration or any type of rank smell to them, no matter how strong or weak the smell, do NOT cook them or eat them. I just threw some out that I had in a plastic bag sealed and they were RANK as rank can be. The last thing you want is to make yourself sick!
