I don't know anything about the William Syndrome, but I lost my mother because of the Micro Valve. What I was told, was that one of the flaps on the heart don't close properly, and it lets blood flow back into the heart after it has been pumped out. She could walk and do light exercising, but never could run or do anything strenuous. I know that she had her first heart attack by the age of 42, but I also know that medicine has come along way since she passed, and there are things that they can do for you... Good Luck to you.

Your mitral valve lies between the left atrium and left ventricle of your heart. It prevents backflow of blood because it is made of two little cups that, when they fill up with blood, block off the opening.

William's syndrome involves narrowing of aorta or of pulmonary artery. Yours must not be too severe to reach 30 with a congenital disease. Blood calcium is high.

You can research this on either www.medscape.com or www.webmd.com These sites are very helpful for medical information. I am a nurse and I use these sites a lot for information.
