I am a Mormon or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although I was born into the Church and was baptized at age 8, I have also made an effort to study more of what we believe in-depth. That included going to Primary, Sunday School, Seminary, and Institute. I guess I have read the Bible about 3 times, and the Book of Mormon about 10 times in my life. There is always more to learn, though. I studied the Book of Mormon along with the Bible in-depth around age 14 to 15 and prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was also the word of God. To go along with these studies, I used a 4-volume set of commentaries by Church scholar W. Cleon Skousen. That helped because I like to know how things work from more than one point of view. I have also been a missionary for the Church. Have a happy day.

No. My mother is RLDS, though. (For those of you who don't know, the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is an offshoot of the Mormon church/faith).

Thankfully, even though I was raised RLDS, I am now a Christian. When I was growing up, I had the misconception that Mormonism/RLDS were just Christian denominations. Although they masquerade as such, they are not. They have many beliefs (and I mean MANY) that are totally contrary to God's Word. The Mormons (LDS/RLDS, etc.) are considered to be cults by every truly Bible-believing Christian I have ever known, spoken to, read of, and/or seen. The Mormon faith is very dangerous as it has "borrowed" enough elements of Christianity to make itself look benign/good.

It would take a long time to expand on the teachings/traditions of the Mormons/LDS/RLDS/others and explain how they differ from a true interpretation of the Bible, so I am going to give a website that does a pretty decent job of it. http://christiananswers.net is a good resource about Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and several other religious cults as well as giving explanations and answers for many common (and not-so-common) questions about Christianity.

I would consider myself Christian; although I have been told I sound Mormon. (As far as I know presently, I have not read the Book of Mormon).

True blue, dyed in the wool, thru and thru. I was born into the faith, and here I will stay.

I believe in Christ, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, Joseph Smith, seeking after that which is lovely and of good report.

Just so everyone knows, we don't believe in polygamy, The people who do and "claim to be Mormon" are not, they have been excommunicated or never were part of the Church in in the first place.

The official name of the Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We do believe in Jesus Christ, and are a Christian Church. We believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and we use both in our worship. We invite all to "come unto Christ"

Hmmmm.....

It would be irresponsible and pretty retarded of me to believe some whack job that claims that an "angel" gave him a book about the "real" story of Christ. A book that no one saw, full of wrong predictions, idiotic rules, prejudice, etc.... If anything, that "angel" was the result of a drug induced hallucination and a prank. And I am being nice....
