No, it's not a good idea but it should be dry. Your mother doesn't sound too bright, frankly.

The hair should be clean and dry. Wet and/or dirty hair won't cut and will clog up the clippers and cause it to pull making it painful and uncomfortable for your dog. Good Luck

Dry only.You'll never get an even cut with a wet dog. Also, if you use electric clippers, it's a great way to get electrocuted, plus a wet dog is harder to hold.

the best is to have it dry ... wet hair is gonna stick to the clippers and not give it a good cut

we do all of ours dry, if you use scissors the hair is course enough to cut dry, if you use electric clippers u need the hair to be dry.

It doesnt matter if it's wet or not. At least if it's dry she'll know exactly how short it will be. It wont shrink up as it drys.
