Are you talking about head lice?
First off you need to clean the entire house, bedding, toys, everything. Also clean the interior of your vehicle if the infested person has been in it. Toys like stuffed animals that cannot be washed in HOT water need to be bagged in plastic bags. Store them for at least 30 days, preferably longer, that will kill the lice on it and the ones that hatch after bagging. Or even better, get rid of everything that cannot be washed really really hot.
Lice treatments are INSECTICIDES and I would not use them more than once on my childs head. Instead do this:
Go buy a big jar of cheap mayonnaise(NO, I'M NOT KIDDING).
Apply the mayonnaise to your childs(or whoevers) scalp and wrap the scalp with a shower bonnet or plastic wrap and/or a sock cap. Leave the mayonnaise on the scalp for as long as the person can stand it(my son finally couldn't stand it anymore after about 14 hrs). Rinse!! The mayonnaise chokes the lice. The oils in it make it impossible for the bugs to breathe. Now you have the nits to deal with and that's tedious. Nits are lice eggs that are fastened to the hair shaft very tightly. I hand picked the nits out of my sons hair one at a time. It took forever. Finally I decided that since the nits were about 1/2 inch up the hair shaft that a hair cut was in order. We went and got my son a 1/4 inch burr cut and he was rid of the lice. I had to clean the house twice though. My boy came home from baseball practice with the lice. They were hiding in the foam of the helmets.
Good luck with your case.
PS: if you don't have any pets to worry about, get an insecticide to use in your house and vacuum thoroughly. You can also get a professional to take care of that part for you.
And don't let anyone make you feel bad about this. It can happen to anyone. Getting them is no shame, not doing anything about them is. People were talking about my son behind our backs when he had them, calling us dirty. Fact is that lice prefer a clean head over a dirty one.

Well our doctor told us instead of spending tons of money on lice products from the store, take pure rubbing alcohol and water...50/50 pour on entire head and let stand for 20 min. You can also put mayonnaise at night so that you can wrap hair in something and leave all night rinse the next morning. But they are hard to get rid of if you don't clean everything in your house, we used the spay for all furniture, vacuum everything wash sheets and stuff and things you don't want to wash throw in the dryer..it will kill any eggs.

Did you wash everything with hot soapy water and dry on very hot settings. Vacuum sofa, mattress's, chairs. Wash bed pillows. Use boiling hot water on Combs, brushes, hair accessories. You must reapply the product again to prevent re-infestation. It's a lot of work, it's the only way to get rid of it. No pun intended. Good Luck. The local health department has the medicine free if you can't afford it.
www.webmd.com - has great information.

use hair grease ....
your local dollar store should have it ..its called "blue magic" or "softee" ...its used for black people's hair mainly ..but I have used it for lice in my daughters hair when she caught it at school and it works wonderful better than any precription or OTC treatment and it only cost $1.00
