the condition is known as trichotillomania. It can strike man or woman or child. It is usually a nervous habit that becomes a condition. The prognosis for adults is poor, but very good for a child. I think behavioral modification is the best way to handle it. Redirect the hands, etc......sometimes medication can help.

There is a disorder called trichotillomania which causes a person to persistently remove (pull) hair from their head, eyebrows, etc. I don't know much about it, but I'm sure there is plenty of info on the web.

Yes, there is such a condition and it requires treatment. Wigs and hair extensions can improve the look of the sufferers head while their hair grows back.
