Food:Fatty foods late at night
Sugary foods and drinks

Electronics:You may think that music helps people fall asleep if thats whate you do, but for some people it only makes it worse. Thats goes for TV as well. I wouldn't fall asleep till around 12 everynight when I had a TV in my room. I moved my tv under my bed (My bed is built like a bunk bed without a bottom bunk) and put the couch on the opposit side of the room. Now I'm not tempter to turn it on as an easy way to give up on sleeping. Its hard the first couple of days but IT WORKS! I admit I'm 14 and was afraid of the dark and fake monsters (not Scooby Doo monsters I mean demonds etc) and couldn't sleep without TV. I would freak out. I would sweat to death in summer nights cause I'd have the covers up to my chin. I ditched the TV and I really don't care anymore. I know this may not be a problem for you but all I'm sayin is thanks to NO TV, I get a greatnights sleep. Of course, I wake up 530 every weekday for school and am always tired...can't help you there its a teen thing. Also, get youself in a good schedule. MAKE a bed time, and WAKE UP EARLY ON WEEKENDS. It doesn't have to be 7 if thats when you wake up, but not 11 please.

I like some answers you were given. Lay off the sugar. Work out with weights then have a small meal before sleep. Milk does it for me. Cold milk and some blueberry muffin. I might suggest hypnosis also. Maybe some lingering dream keeps you awake. You might be Bi-Polar. Part of the condition is the inability to get to sleep.

Ease up on the Sugars and Caffeine's after 5:00
exercise in the early evening, take a nice shower, set up a routine that you do every night so your body gets use to going to sleep at the same time.
if that doesn't work, try Ambian

EXCLUDING any physical issue.... The very first step is to clear your mind of EVERYTHING... A difficult tast indeed. That is part of the reason people study meditation and the sort. Food intake has a significant impact. Not just eating but WHAT you ate..
