I mean, does any religion preach actual hatred? Are decent tolerant religions being dragged down because of a few losers who just listen to the rantings of the nuts. Never bothering to read their chosen Holy books?

Most religious people, like most people on the planet, are superficial and fearful and, therefore, suspicious/intolerant of what is different or what they do not understand.------ Nor are they willing to make the personal effort to ask, seek or knock as they are easily conned by devious middlemen into believing that their religion is the best or that they are already saved because of someone else's efforts and sacrifices.------God cannot be blamed for their conduct. Nor can God teach or save them unless they themselves realize their ignorance/stupidity and express a sincere desire to learn and understand.------The truth is that all the major religions and their key holy books are based on the same eternal spiritual truths. They appear different because they hail from different periods in history, are usually symbolic, and are in different languages. But how are superficial, lazy, easily conned/hypnotised people to grasp this?------Our task is to keep asking valuable questions like yours in the hope that every now and then a few realize that it is time to wake up and learn!------Best wishes. One day an old man divided his children into two groups and assigned to them the task of massaging his body, he assigned an equal portion of both halves and they commenced the task, after some time a dispute broke out about who was performing the better job, the teams then grew violent against the other and to discredit the other team started beating the portion of the body assigned to the other side, therefore promoting themselves as the best.
This is the position of modern day religious groups who instead of loving God are promoting themselves and their team or group as the best.
The purpose of mature spiritual/religious groups are to develop love of God, be compassionate to all living entities and promote world peace, this is the standard of real superiority and leadership.

God wasn't a bloke he was a Holy spirit, it is the interpretation of the aforementioned losers that are intolerant in God's name not God himself. He didn't want man to take up arms against his fellow man or be intolerant of him.

No. What happens in the church is many people think they are better then everyone else. God is perfect, humans aren't and thet's why religious people can act so strange. Also, many customs can cause conflict in a religious environment but God isn't to blame.

God is not a person for starters. And God cannot be held responsible for idiots and their views. As God said, " They are like the wind, Here today and gone tomorrow." That's why he said he can no longer be bothered to smite them.

Ppl have free will, and they use that do go to extremes sometimes. Sadly, it's only those ppl who make the news, not the ones actually following God.

The people who you are talking about are not true religious people. They are just as bad as terrorists....my way or no way.
They are like the people who have discovered a new restaurant....they just can't stop talking about it and downing anyone who eats someplace else.

It isn't God's fault. God and religions will ALWAYS be let down by His/their adherents. Because they are mere fallible human beings!!!!!!!!!!!!
