I mean if we stuck to old traditions like so many people seem to want to on homosexuality issues, women wouldn't be able to vote, blacks wouldn't be free, it would be socially acceptable to physically abuse women, women would generally be considered inferior, only white males owning property could vote, we would still think the world was flat, we'd use leeches to suck the blood out of people as a method of healing, freethinking or unwed women would be called witches and killed, a lot more species would be extinct, there would be no America, tea would still have heavy taxes (haha), and I would be burned alive for not being Christian. Feel free to add to the list.

So why do people resist change so much?

By the way, how many women are offended when a man doesn't take his hat off in your presence? And how many people are offended by flip flops because it shows your feet in public? How many parents punish their daughters for wearing jeans? Just curious.

I'm sure your God doesn't like it, but I don't think he exists so that doesn't really effect me on the issue. Laws are made to keep society from falling in on itself, not to make sure no one has to be uncomfortable. Some guys are born wanting to have sex with other guys, I think it's time to get over it.

To retrodragonfly, damn straight, that's what I'm saying. It's too bad Catholacism has beat its tradition into society so thoroughly.

My position on the God thing is that's a personal belief so practice it personally, don't bother other people with it, not because of any laws or anything, just to be considerate.

Personally this is how I feel about tradition:

I made a chocolate raspberry pudding for dessert. nonetheless the respond could be Mexican beef and rice is throwing some thing interior the microwave counts as cooking (to me it would not). BQ: i like this element referred to as Mexican Lasagne you in actuality make a meat sauce out of mince, onion, warm taco sauce, 3 bean combination and that i think of that's it, layer it with Mexican tortillas with cheese interior the layers then layer the ideal with cheese and sliced tomato and bake it. It tastes so solid yet i won't be able to have it too regularly because of the fact my brother won't be able to stand something chilly (regardless of if a curry has a million/2 a teaspoon of curry powder and serves like 6 human beings he will nevertheless be chugging water that's somewhat ridiculous). For dessert i like this chocolate raspberry slice because of the fact i like chocolate and that i like raspberry so that's a win-win. it is likewise moist which for some reason i like in a cake. BQ2: relies upon on the dish. i'm an ok cook dinner yet there are somethings my grandmother does that's in basic terms wonderful. i haven't tried countless the recipes so perhaps i can lead them to easily besides... who knows? BQ3: no longer regularly that's not like that's fairly low priced. eating out isn't low priced in Australia. I do regularly have Subway as quickly as I might desire to get lunch at college or sometimes i'm getting develop Juice yet those are not fairly eating places they're extra quickly nutrients.

I want to address the witches thing you mentioned.
There was a bad time in Mass. history.
Salem Mass. that is.
If they burned the pastor at the stake first they would have avoided all the bad stuff.
And---if they had of came across a real witch none would have lived to tell about it.
There were not any real witches there during those trials.
The closest thing to a witch was the pastor.

Homosexual behavior is declared a sin by God. God's Law doesn't need updating. Some laws aren't relevant bc the purposes are fulfilled by other means, but that law is regarding morality, which is absolute.
