I mean if we stuck to old traditions like so many people seem to want to on homosexuality issues, women wouldn't be able to vote, blacks wouldn't be free, it would be socially acceptable to physically abuse women, women would generally be considered inferior, only white males owning property could vote, we would still think the world was flat, we'd use leeches to suck the blood out of people as a method of healing, freethinking or unwed women would be called witches and killed, a lot more species would be extinct, there would be no America, tea would still have heavy taxes (haha), and I would be burned alive for not being Christian. Feel free to add to the list.
So why do people resist change so much?
By the way, how many women are offended when a man doesn't take his hat off in your presence? And how many people are offended by flip flops because it shows your feet in public? How many parents punish their daughters for wearing jeans? Just curious.

I'm sure your God doesn't like it, but I don't think he exists so that doesn't really effect me on the issue. Laws are made to keep society from falling in on itself, not to make sure no one has to be uncomfortable. Some guys are born wanting to have sex with other guys, I think it's time to get over it.

To retrodragonfly, damn straight, that's what I'm saying. It's too bad Catholacism has beat its tradition into society so thoroughly.

My position on the God thing is that's a personal belief so practice it personally, don't bother other people with it, not because of any laws or anything, just to be considerate.
