When is he doing it? Was he recently hurt (that you know of)? Is it when you leave? The answer depends on the rest of the details. I agree with the above post, check him over gently (rub your hands easily, but firmly enough to tell if something feels different than it should) and see if he whines when you touch a certain part. If everything checks out that way, it could be something internal, or something as simple as anxiety. Dogs cry when they want something but can't get it or get to it. If he cries when you leave, try leaving music/TV/some kind of regular noise on, that usually helps. Don't make a big deal of leaving or coming back (don't say stuff like "Be a good boy" when you leave, or get him really excited when you come back). Act like it's nothing.
Like I said, it depends on when he's crying.
Sorry I couldn't help more. If nothing works, try taking him to the vet.

If it's more of a wine,he may just want some attention,to go for a pee or mabe it's his way of 'talking'. If it's more of an intense cry, mabe he's hurt, watch his body language to see if something is hurt. My 2yr old Male Rotti wines all the time but it's for attention.

a lot of dogs just whimper for attention. Or if they are in pain. Kinda like a baby. You might have to be more thorough in your question to get the answer you need.
