The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.

If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.

First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.

How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?

It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.

One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.

Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.

If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.

If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.

How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.

Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.

If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.

How likely is that????

Think about it.

The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

It is not a sin to have children in a dedicated marriage. It is a sin to have children outside wedlock. If your reference about Jesus and Mary comes from recent book publications then all I can say is that the author wanted controversy to increase book sales. The content is certainly untrue. On the other hand the Bible is true and accurate. In it there are about 1800 prophecies many made 2000 years in advance and all have come true. Not one mentions Jesus being married. He came to earth in the knowledge that his stay on earth would be short (only 33 years). Would any man get married have a wife and children if he knew before getting married that he would be dead at the age of 33. I think any man would face up to those responsibilities and not enter marriage and that is what Jesus did.

The sins is when people take a lie and try to make it the truth. The Lord Jesus Christ was God manifested in the flesh. He came to earth as a man so He could die for your sins. He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. He did it all for you. He didn't come to earth to get married and have children. The would have been half God and half human. Don't believe the book or the movie it is fictional. Philippians 2: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Philippians 2: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

It's not a sin to have kids. God commanded Adam and Even in the Garden to "be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth." As far as I know, that commandment has never been rescinded.

There is not proof that Christ and Mary were ever married. And really is it important to salvation if they were? No it's not.

Jesus was sinless. He never had sex or had a women. Having children is not a sin. Having them outside of a marriage is. You aren't suppose have kids until your married. And no where in the bible did it say that Him and Mary had sex, that is a false.

Christians believe that Jesus wasn't married to Mary Magdalene. So if he had kids with her he would have slept with her outside of marriage. THAT is the sin they refer to, not the having kids part.

I thought having children is the only reason Christians are supposed to have sex in the first place.

If the historical Jesus existed, of course he was married and had children. It would have been an extreme abnormality in his culture at that time for a man of his age not to have a wife. The first responsibility for this being repressed can be laid at the feet of the fanatical, woman-hating Paul.

Not that I think any of the wild nonsense in The Da Vinci Code is true, although it was fun to laugh at the picketers when we went in.

It's not a sin but Jesus didn't have children. Not because he couldn't do so, but because it wasn't convenient for his ministry because he didn't really have a house here on Earth or anything. Also he probably didn't have any kids so people wouldn't look at his lineage as a "powerful" race or anything.
