I always wonder why the west only sees Islam as Bin Laden, Al Zarqawi, and a bunch of suicide bombers…why don’t you give yourself a chance to understand its teachings with an open mind.
Believe it or not, “true” Muslims are only those who are peace-lovers....I admit that there are misinterpretations of some Quranic verses as well as an misunderstanding of some historical events, but this shall not make this religion a religion of terrorism..
Just think about the following: Do the prostitutes who wear crosses and have their bodies covered by tattoos of crosses represent Christianity? Shall one assume that Christianity allows prostitution? OF COURSE NOT
Guys, just think about what I said and relate it to terrorism and Islam…it is the same concept….very simple!
As a practicing Muslim, I really feel that I love the earth and its habitants…I even start my prayers by praying first for my enemies before my friends and family, coz maybe one day they become my friends

Guys, thanks a lot for your replies.
Definitely there is a problem. I do not agree with the ways Muslims express their anger of what’s going around them. I neither forgot 9/11 nor the muslims’ reaction towards the Danish cartoons, but this is totally against Islam according to the renowned scholars. The people that you blame Islam for are totally uneducated people who did not study their religion well, suffering from poverty, and enjoyed no real freedom in their countries.
Why do u forget the Muslim scientists and their achievements which were the basis of the West discoveries later on? Why do you forget that the Middle East was living in the light of knowledge at the time people in Europe were suffering from the darkness of ignorance?
I am sure that Love is the answer for all our problems….why not start by ourselves and spread our love to people around us regardless of their religion, origin, and color…Can we just stop our prejudice?

I do not understand Islam, never paid much attention to it before Bin Laden, so my view is slightly askew. That said I have no doubt that the majority of Muslims simply want to live there lives and raise there families in peace, just like me. It just seem that we only hear about the ones who wrap themselves in death and praise Allah..

Here on answers, we get quite a few Muslims telling us how great and peaceful Islam is. I always answer by saying - - show us, don't just tell us.
Everyone knows that every last Muslim is not a terrorist, BUT every time there's a report of Americans being killed, the Muslim people dance in the streets and burn American flags. Every single one of them is overjoyed at the news.
Also, we know that in all the Muslim mosques in America there are some who would love to damage America. I'm sure that there is talk among the mosque goers. Does anyone ever report it to the police ?
Some will say that they're good Americans. I would like to know if they're good Americans first, or Muslims first.
In all other groups, religion is not even considered. Speaking for myself, I have very good friends of - - - who knows what religion. We believe religion is great for an hour or two in church on Sunday, then forget it until next Sunday.

This is part of the problem, where are these people the extremeists
are out doing what their doing and we hear virtually nothing from the rest, if it is as you say where are the voices of condemnation? and I don't mean somebody from some Islamic organization going on TV after an attack I mean a steady drumbeat maybe a little help finding and catching the bad guys, not just " gee they seemed like nice boys " from the people in the neighborhood when we break up a cell.
You say "well what can I do", do something.

People judge a whole group by the actions of a few. People of the west had a Stereotype for the people in the middle east already. 9/11 ,even though it was caused by Muslim extremist, added fuel to the fire. I will agree with you that there are peaceful Muslims but people in the west are so used to seeing extremist on TV and put a stereotype in their minds that "this is how Muslims are". Just like they'll look at a preacher on TBN that ask for money and they'll think this is how all Christians are like. Its stereotypical thinking, that's all it is.

Those are wonderful sentiments BUT, there is one important factor that IS NOT misinterpreted, misunderstood -- Muslims deny the divinity of Jesus Christ and equate him along with Muhammad. I, as a Christian, find that highly insulting.
As for the other factors, the bombings and such, most intelligent people know that not all Muslims agree with that train of thought. Most people know that most Muslims want to just live and let live. It's that vocal Muslim minority that's giving the rest of Muslims a bad name and causing the blight for Islam .

There is no religion that is intristically violent. Yet each religion can be driven to extereme, as many people belive very deeply and that allows a powerful tool for manipulation for people to exectue their own agenda.
It so happens, that a lot of theviolent extrimist organizations these days are based in Islamic countires and manipulate their mamber to do all manner of insane and nasty things in the name of Islam. There were times when all manner of nasty things were done in the name of christianity (particularly during the crusades).
To sum up, the hatred is there because people are scared. It is simpler to hate these ideas then to learn the whole situation which is allways extremly complicted, and based on reason that, in fact have nothing to do with religion, but with money, power, political sway, ext.

It is not increasing but the Media play the major part. Ignorance is the main reason for Islamic hatred and I think people start to know more about the real face of Islam, you can't hide the sun by a coin.

Media is in the hand of anti islamist.
But those who don't believe in Media and those who want to learn why Islam is such religion, they Go and read about Islam, the brod minded person never believe what people say about anything or what followers do and they read and the scripture of that religion and found it a true religion, acctually Media is Helping in spreading of Islam, because Allah says in Quran "They plan and Allah also Plan ,the greatest planner is Allah"

Does the expression "Islamic Fundamentalist" or "Islamic Extremist" mean anything to you? Because during and after 9/11, that is all anybody heard. So there is your answer, that is why hatred against Islam is increasing, because that act of terror cost lives and sparked war, and "the West" is losing even more people in that war.
Personally, I couldn't care less about Islam or Christianity. As far as I am concerned, all religion is POISON.

People tend to associate the actions of the radical Muslims with the religion in general. I think a lot of it has to do with that fact that "religion" in general is so exclusive. Like the infamous, "if you don't believe in Allah, Jesus...etc" then you won't get in to heaven. It's absolute craziness. Why be concerned with issues that are ultimately determined by whatever God you serve? If a person doesn't want to be Muslim, so be it...leave it to the God you serve.
And I don't believe Islam is a religion of terrorism. I think politics, egoism, and pure hatred are the doctrine of terrorism.
