with the right meds and a good doctor you can start to feel better and not look at depression as a bad thing, instead look at the good stuff in life.

There are many cures - this is a sure sign that not all of them work or will be right for you!

Psychotherapy - cognitive therapy (or cognitive behaviour therapy) is a well known and useful technique in the treatment of depression. It is, in fact, better than drugs. However, it is harder work than drugs too. Have a look at the wiki page.

Medical therapy - antidepressants of all shapes and sizes including st john's wort and all the new ones. They work in a percentage of people, but there are some people who are resistant to them.

Shock therapy - this treats most depression very well. However it is not an appealing therapy even so!

I think everyone has depression for different reasons and you must look at your life and try to determine what brought it about and try various methods to fight it.
Don't depend on medications. i personally don't agree with them. I think therapy and friends that you can talk to can better help you release the inner turmoil that I believe causes most depressions.
We have to be our self and not try to conform to society's idea of perfection...because it doesn't exist.
Everyone gets down from time to time. Getting a good night sleep, eating healthy, being active, and being yourself should help a lot.
I realize when we get depressed we could careless about what we eat, what we do, and so on, but you must find that inner strength and stand up and fight the depression despite your lack of energy. Believe in yourself, find faith in something and you can battle and win the depression war.
If you lack the energy...drink a few red bulls and go for a long walk and think about all the good things about your life and you. There are always bad things about life and us but try to focus on the positive.
The cure is within you and you must believe that to find it!

There is cure for depression. If you dont like to take antidepressents then you can take St johns Wort(be sure to see if it .3 % hypercium along with 3 % hyperforin) and take 5HTP and B6 vitamin. You will be able to see the results in 2 wks. Regular excersise with healthy diet and proper sleep pattern might help.If you have insomnia then Melatonin might help.

I have asked my doctor and he told me no, there isnt, just being able to control the symptoms. I am currently taking a generic paxil and that is pretty much working for me, if you are taking something then you might try switching and seeing if something else works better for you.

something else you might try is going to see a therapist about it, ask her what more you can do... there are alot of ways to beat the symptoms, dont give up, lots and lots of people have depression, your not the only one fighting it... good luck

you can effectively control the symptoms, i.e. treat depression with a regimen of pills but there is no cure. there are times when one has been symptom free for a while and can consider tapering medicines off gradually, good luck, feel free to email me if you have questions

If there is, someone's not sharing it...The only thing one can do is alter their brain's chemistry through medicine, food, and etc...to MANAGE the symptoms. There is no real cure....
