We're having home-made crab patties,pont-neuf potatoes and onion rings, washed down with some Colombard Sauvignon from the vineyards of Alexis Lichine. I'm off to cook them now. No doubt I will sample the wine whilst the dish cooks - that's why I took two bottles out of the cellar!

Enjoy your food, and avoid the microwave.

Biltong. Strips (usually) of uncooked / dried meat. Ostrich is good, but you should keep away from sand pits for 24 hours after eating it...you may not be able to resist the urge to stick your head into the sand.

Whilst I make my peanut butter and jelly I will partake of the whole milk I brought up from the bottom shelf of the fridge. Chip Chip and all that.

bread and jam fritters, cheap, different and tasty. Butter and jam two slices of bread, dip sandwich in batter, fry, when both sides are brown, put sandwich in a paper bag containing sugar, shake about a bit, then scoff.....
