Are you bragging? Are you trying to see how many of you are out there? What are you truly trying to find out with a question like that. Is your faith weak and perhaps it helps reinforce your beliefs if you see that others share them?

Peope are always looking for ways to categorize themselves, or appear better than others. I have no clue what a "true" Christian is, especially since being a "true" Christian implies judgement of those that are not. And the last time I checked, "judging" wasn't a Christian thing to do. I'm a human being, living, and battling life just like everyone else. I believe in God, and I believe in treating people like I want to be treated. Whether they believe in what I believe in or not.

A Christian is simply by definition some one who believes Jesus Christ existed and supposedly follows his teachings. But the teachings are so ambivalent and metaphorical I think it's mostly determined by people and there egos and experiences.I don't think there is such a thing as a true Christian. Who ever asks those kinds of questions are trying to elevate their own stature, so really it's a lack of confidence and insecurity in ones own beliefs. It seems the person is trying to elevate themselves above others which is the exact opposite of what a Christian should be as defined in their reference source ,the Bible. Rather, humility is what should be sought- by everyone. And I was raised a "Southern Bapist." I am glad I learned how to think.......

The question is hiding the real question which is this: "Do you agree with everything WE think in regards to being a Christian?" It is a form of coercion towards conformity, and is arrogant, childish, disrepectful, and shows a great deal of a lack of self-confidence. Its really quite pathetic. If you want to be a Christian that is your business, but when you start telling others that they are going to hell because they don't agree with the way you think that is another matter entirely.

I have a problem with people bragging about their faith and putting down people that don't share your faith.

You shouldn't have to say a word...the way you live your life will show if you are a true Christian.

I believe it is considered a sin to be boastful.

Good question! It seems like lots of people out there are smug, judgmental, and insecure all at the same time. And also really annoying.

Yeah it's bragging, and I hate it! Don't they preach that pride is one of the seven deadly sins? They always make laws and break them!
