Her husband only has intercourse with her every four months
Question:
If a husband has sex with his wife every four (on a constant basis)months but it does not fulfill the womans sexual needs then is there any Islamic recourse that a woman can take concerning this matter. Is it fair that a man can have sex with his wife everyday but the wife can only have sex every four months with her husband? (after all it is not like she can marry another man to satisfy her needs. but her husband has ample room to satisfy his needs).
Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
This action is undoubtedly wrong, and it is contrary to good treatment of one's wife. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“and live with them honourably”
[al-Nisa’ 4:19]
“And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect) to what is reasonable”
[al-Baqarah 2:228]
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“The best of you are those who are best to their wives.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3895; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
It follows from this that the husband has to have intercourse with his wife in the manner that is sufficient to meet her needs. It is not a part of living with her honourably to forsake her for this length of time, namely four months. If that causes harm to the woman, then she has the right to demand an annulment of the marriage,
With regard to the comment made by some of the scholars, that the husband only has to have intercourse with his wife once every four months, this is a weak view, for which there is no clear saheeh (sound) evidence. The correct view is that he has to have intercourse with his wife as often as will satisfy her needs, because of the shar’i principles mentioned above.
Dr. Khaalid ibn ‘Ali al-Mushayqih.

looks like you know the answer you certainly pulled enough Quran to prove your point. i would think that any man should want to satisfy his wife.if he doesn't someone else will eventually.some men are just hiding behind the religion because some don't know how to satisfy, some don't care to know as long as they get theirs. if he is so selfish that your needs and desires are not important to him then face it he is not the right man for you. without the affection and attention we as women need we sort of dry up like wilted flowers. do something....

This all sounds/reads fine and good BUT in most opinions -- having more than one wife is flat out legalized/holyized adultry and so are temporary marriages. So, who cares which one or when he satisfies them. If it's more than one wife then he's an adulterer.
It boils down to whether or not people believe that human beings can or cannot control themselves. Are we lower than a dog that we can't control the urge to mate with any and everything that walks by? Are you telling me that all men who see a woman scantily clad stands at attention? No not all have that much lack of control.
No, God gave man/human kind a brain and a conscience. I believe that God expects us to use that brain and conscience to act accordingly to his will.
Giving a way out to satisfy lusts, as your Qur'an does (4 wives, temporary marriages, everyone cover so no one will be tempted) has made a bunch of people weaklings and codependent.
In other words, everyone needs to take responsibility for their actions and control themselves and stop finding excuses for their fallibilities.

it's hard to follow the learned answer from Dr Khaalid, but, on a more mundane level. i don't believe any healthy man is going to wait 4 months to be with his wife.

You can spout this nonsense until you're blue in the face. The fact remains that women are little more than chattel to muslim men. We're not buying into the whole crazy mess, so I have a problem understanding why you people keep trying to make this muslim insanity sound decent.

Incorrect. A strict interpretation of the koran will show that a woman's body is the property of her husband and must be surrendered to him immediately upon demand. She must keep her genitalia clean for him at all times because she's nothing more than his whore.
