I have to say that I've seen many great matches that started out as internet friendships, whether that's what people were looking for or not. It seems to me that people get to know each other on a different level, perhaps a deeper level, than when their first impression might otherwise be based on appearances only. I think sometimes on the internet people experience a deeper connection first, and then choose to connect in real life. It's not all bad. The internet allows people to reach out much further than to people they might otherwise never have opportunity to meet. So for those who are looking for friendship or partners and would like to give it a try, I say, why not?! Even those who weren't actually looking for anything have met some great friends on the internet! (Of course, one has to be cautious... there are a lot of freaks out there too!)

The Internet has become a way for instant gratification. We look for it everywhere so why not in the area of relationships. People want to quick find someone to fill their voided lives-- even if in all the wrong places. People meet in the clubs, bars, and other places for this same gratification; why not expand it to a network that you can have a better chance. The Internet has billions, if not, trillions of possibilities for relationships--and most importantly discreetness. You may only meet 20-100 people in a club or bar; we want the instant gratification and the best possibility.

I don't consider them pathetic at all, I consider them intelligent. If you are trying to meet someone and you don't do bars and don't care to meet someone that spends their time in bars sadly enough your options are limited. Yes you could meet people anywhere, but this gives you a certain safety (as long as you use some common sense)...you don't have to interact with someone face to face until you want to. What I find pathetic are people who think they are so important that they have the right to judge other people without knowing the details of their lives or what it is like to be in their shoes.....you know, like YOU! I'd think someone as high and mighty as you are should be able to spell with a little more accuracy.

It appears pathetic to you and i but not to them. Everyone is different and we are who we are, that doesnt give anyone the right to judge, not even me for judging you for saying what you just said. Accept that different things appeal to different people and try not to be so harsh.
