You wouldn't know unless you did swab tests

It's no more deadly than the MSSA Staph you already have on your skin. That is to say if it stays on your outside you are fine. If you get infected and it starts building up inside (cellulitis, toxic shock, pneumonia, septicaemia) then it is a very severe and life threatening infection.

The trouble with MRSA is that when the infection gets going, it is hard to treat cos the usual antibiotics won't work against it.

Hi. I work primarialy with MRSA patients and let me tell you. You must take your baby to the dr right now. I mean yesterday. This is an extremely contagious disease. She/ he should be on an atibiotic asap. MRSA is an infection that enters the body through a cut or open wound on the body. It could be deadly if not taken care of. My patients are on IV antibiotics for weeks. It is hard to cure, well your not really ever cured cause it goes dormaint in your body. But you must get her treated NOW.
