Regarding trash - the little tray thingie under the menu - is that to be used for trash or not? I see many people leave their empty bags and cups there - not sure if that's what it is for or not? Any ideas?

Thanks! It's all so new to me - we didn't have Sonic in Philly. I just discovered you are supposed to tip them last week - luckily i go to the same sonic all the time and have the same two girls wait on me - i gave the girl a five and told her i was sorry that i just found out that i was supposed to tip them. I felt so bad about it - but at least i know. Cool - thanks for the answers! :)

Leave it on the tray-the carhops will pick it up. The only reason that people go to Sonic is to avoid having to get out of the car so getting out to throw trash away defeats the whole purpose.

Yes, trash is one of the reasons they leave it. Also remember that you're supposed to leave the server a tip for carrying the food out to your car and picking up the tray when you're done. As far as the server is concerned the tray is like a table at a restaurant.

At mine, the trays are gone. Normally there's a trash can that you can throw stuff into from your car.

He's right. Don't feel bad for leaving it. They get paid to throw it away. You're a paying customer, take advantage of that shi.t!
