I work in fastfood and you would be supprised how many people do that. It makes no scense to me unless they are diabetic or something like that, but men are just as guilty of doing that.

LOL! I used to wonder that myself until I too became a fat person. I've sinced lost the weight and I've learned to watch my calories. Now, if I want a burger and/or fries I will get them, however, by ordering a diet drink I can cut out up to 600 calories. When you're eating a Big Mac it's bad enough, but throw in a sugary soda a now you're just BEGGING to add 5 inches to your hips! The diet soda is simply a trade-off in calories for many, however, if they're overweight than obviously they need to be eating fewer calories and the diet soda is not enough. :)

Yeah... I noticed that too , and they havent been diabetics or anything.
Its just from the mind.
Of course they dont like the diet drink, but its like the only healthy thing they can get there.
They would have a full coke or shake if there were other things they could get there, things like:
a "workout napking, that helps you lose weight" or a "diet straw" that would reduce calories of any drink or "burger pill" for reducing the whole meals calories...
But seriously:
What those obese people and most other people too dont realize,
what they dont catch on to is:
The danger of a diet "coke or something" is, that the body will be sort of expecting sugar without actually getting it, resulting in a demand for more food/drink intake to cover the supposed shortage.
So the diet drinks actually get you fat... one more reason for fat people to prefer diet drinks - the stuff boosts their craving.

Every little bit helps. ;-)
Really, I do that. I can't drink regular Coke anymore, too sweet. Back in the day when I always dieted & watched my weight I got used to diet soft drinks, & still prefer them.
Even w/ my fried chicken, super size fries, pizza, you name it.

No, its usually men...You see more fat men than you do women. And they probably like the taste of diet better....I know I can't drink a regular Mountain Dew, its way to sweet....I'm not chubby in the least but I still order diet because it tastes better.

people prefer diet coke. i personally hate it. bleh. as others have said, diabetes. it's usually preference. just b/c someone drinks diet coke, doesn't make them some kind of health freak or mean that one is dieting. plus, the amount of sugar in colas is ridiculous.

No. I like diet sodas. I haven't drank a regular soda in over 6 years. I don't like all the sugar in it. Diet has a much better taste for me, regardless what I eat.

33 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, I got hooked on Diet Pepsi. I got in trouble, over and over from my doctor for my weight. I justified (to myself) eating what I wanted to eat and drinking Diet Pepsi.
People are funny!
