Its a hazelnut liquor called Frangelico. It doesn't taste like mint.
When introduced in the early 1980s, FRANGELICO LIQUEUR immediately developed a loyal following. Nothing quite like it had ever appeared on American back bars. Its brilliant hazelnut flavor quickly became the featured attraction in scores of contemporary classics.
Legend has it that in the early 1600s an Italian friar named Fra. Angelico concocted a liqueur out of wild hazelnuts and brandy. This eventually became the inspiration for the Frangelico recipe. The liqueur is made in the Piedmont region of Italy and combines natural flavor extracts, including hazelnuts, cocoa, coffee and vanilla to deliver its complex and one of a kind character. The liqueur is then filtered for purity, sweetened and bottled at 48 proof.

Actually, this is a liqueor for after dinner. It doesn't taste of mint, but has a nutty flavor. You may have this confused with a creme de minthe which can be enjoyed alone or as one of the ingredients in a stinger, another excellent after dinner cocktail.

There's a liquor called Frangelico, but its hazelnut flavored, not mint. The only mint flavored liquors I can think of are Rumpleminze and Creme de Menthe.

While I was in the military I lived in Sicily for two years and met some great Italian people who pretty much considered it the last course at supper. It's a very good drink. Try traderjoes.com for buying it.
