I am deaf, and I have a drivers license. Does that answer your question? Plus I've never been into an accident! Hearing is not relevant to how well we can drive. We just need eyes that's all.
The question you should be asking is "Are the blind allowed to drive legally?" Before you say "No", yes they are allowed! There are people who are legally blind and yet can still drive. How is that possible? Simple, they just wear glasses! Some people who are considered legally blind can remedy their vision with glasses. It is the fact that when they take their glasses off, their vision is too poor that they are medically blind. As long as they can see properly and pass the test, they can drive. I knew a such person.

Yes of course deaf people drive, and they are often better drivers than us who can hear because they are very visually aware of everything around them. They are required to have the extra side mirror in some states, but deafness is not something that can alone prevent getting a driver's license.

My friend's sister is deaf and had a driver's license. There is no hearing test in Illinois, and it is legal for the deaf to drive.

Everybody is allowed to drive legally. It's the illegal ones you want to worry about.

Yes, but I believe most states require that there be two side view mirrors on the car. Since most cars now have that anyway, no problem.

I am pretty sure. There is not a hearing screening when you are getting your license, just an eye test to make sure you can see. Hearing is really irrelevant to driving if you ask me. that way you won't get pissed off when someone honks their horn at you
