BECAUSE PAUL wanted to obey the Lord, and the Lord tells us himself. Go into all the world baptizing them in the name of the father, and the son, and the holy spirit and lo I will be with you always even until the end of time... IT is necessary, it is obedience to the Lord.

The bottom line is that there is nothing we can DO, to earn salvation (Eph. 2:8-9). Baptism is included as a work. The work that Christ did on the cross is sufficient to wash away my sin. However, Rom. 6 declares that the purpose of baptism is to identify as a member of the Body of Christ, not to become a part of the Kingdom of Christ. Consider Acts 10:44. As Peter is preaching in the house of Cornelius they received the Word and they were filled with Holy Spirit, and spoke in tongues. All of this happened BEFORE they were baptized in Acts 10:48. Another example is Acts 8:36-37. Philip told the eunuch that he could only be baptized AFTER he received Christ (salvation). Finally, Acts 8:12 says that when Philip was preaching in Samaria the people believed, then they were baptized. This act of baptism follows our conversion. God Bless you.

I AGREE WITH U AND I HAVE A FEW VERSUSU TO SUPPORT IT... AND IF U BEVIEVE ONE VERSUS FROM THE BIBLE THEN U HAVE TO BELIEVE THE OTHERS TOO....
JOHN 3:5 > Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit
ACTS 2:38 >Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 22:16:>And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.'
1 Corinthians 12:13:> "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."
ROMANS 6:4>We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Mark 16:16 >He that believes and is baptized shall be saved"
THINK ... BAPTISM IS GODS COMMANDMENT AND U R NOT GOING TO BE CONDEMED IF U R BAPTISED SO Y NOT TRY IT

Its more necassary for us to be reborn in mind than to be baptised. For I can go in the water a sinner and come out a sinner, so its more important what changes on the inside than the act of being dipped in the water, on the outside.
Becoming a Christian is an inside job, your person , not a ritualistic style of showcasing what you have done, for the world to believe that the inside matches the outside. Man can be fooled , and you might even fool yourself, but your creator is not fooled, not ever!
Love and Respect!

baptism is symbolic of what is taking place in the spirit realm. as in the natural so in the spirit. and it is a washing/cleansing of the natural man. like when you make a vow in the natural the spirit realm records this vow so it is better to keep your vow than to lie about your spiritual motives and have that counted against you.
I also believe that God sits in the third heaven (2 Corinthians)and that the second heaven is water.(read Genesis 1:1-10)

It is and it isn't. You remember the story of the criminals that flanked Jesus of Zazareth on the cross? One disrespected. However, one recognized him as the true savior. He did not have the opportunity to be babtized; so he went ahead and took him to paradise.
Babtism is to be the first act of obedience. If you are not ready to submit to the Father then you arwe not sorry enough for your sins for true repentence and are therefore wasting your breath when asking for forgiveness.

"For it is by grace you are saved, through faith, not by works that any man should boast".
"Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved".
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved".
If you don't understand God's word, don't use it to answer people's questions and lead them astray, especially when it comes to salvation. Baptism is NOT NECESSARY for salvation. No one is saying we should not be baptised.

I agree with you but if it will cause proplems that will prevent the person from being with God then being with Jesus is more important.Don't you agree?!
