I am born again, when i say "christianees", I mean when some christians who walk up to a complete stranger and say things like,"Jesus died for your sins", or, "jesus loves you", you might as well be speaking greek to them. Thats not witnessing, thats confusing the unbeliever. Read the NT and see how the apsotles often witnessed to the gentiles, they don't quote the OT very often, it's mostly a string of spiritual logic leading to a finale.

O.K. so, let's say that all the Christians go completely quiet and never share their faith, or the truth that is contained in the Bible (the truth that people desperately need). What have you got? A pagan culture. That is a breif description of what has happened in America over the last 50 years. The Spirit of Christ living in the hearts of people who love Him and receive Him is salt and light to this dying world. If you consider our talk to be "Christianese," that shows you are not born again. I would be very concerned about that, if I were you. Rejecting Christ and the teachings of the Bible does not make it any less true. It only makes the rejector that much more damned. My intention is not to beat anyone over the head with a Bible. My intention is to share truth with whomever will listen. If you don't want it, that is your God-given right to refuse it. But I will not be silent and let others miss what God has for them so that you can feel more comfortable in your sin. Does that answer your question adequately?

There are several things to consider. First of all, if I live my life in such a way that others see a difference in me, and ask, then I can and do tell others that Christ Jesus saved me. And that makes the difference. If you are saying this is incorrect, I would disagree with you.
If on the other hand you are talking about the believer who goes about attempting to turn every conversation to evangelism, I might well agree with you. Our lives are first to be a testimony. Then we can be ready to give an answer for why we are different. God does use human instruments; it is just that some people do no understand how to be an instrument for God.

Only Christ can turn someone to Himself. But there are some people out there that have never even heard of Christ. We aren't commanded to beat people over the head with the Bible, although there are many Christians who think that is the command. What we are commanded to do is to preach the Gospel of Christ to people who have never heard it, then let God's Holy Spirit do the work in bringing them to Christ.

Because they feel that because it works for them it should work for everyone. Many Christians (like many Muslims) believe their religion is the only way to salvation. There is no room for questioning this or doubt.

This is how organized religion keeps the masses inline and paying tithing. Create a scary spectre (the Devil) and tell everyone that only they can save them from eternal damnation in Hell. Fear is a great way to control people.

Christianity today is far from what Jesus intended. Christianity today does not serve the people, but serves the interests in those a the top of the Christian churches. Though they will try to tell you different.

Christianity is a business, and a very well run one two, selling the best product in the world, the salvation of your soul.

"Bible-beating" is NOT the Christian way. Perhaps those who do so are just over-zealous and do not realize that they are handling the situation poorly. In any case, we are commanded to point the true and right way to others. Acceptance or rejection rests on that individual. It is a Christian's responsibility to share the Gospel message with others, but it is NOT our responsibility to "make" someone accept Jesus.

The whole "no one comes to Christ unless they are called by Christ" statement smacks of predestination. Predestination is a load of baloney. God already knows who will accept Him and who will not, but His arms are still open to everybody on earth who would like to accept Him. God does NOT just pick and choose which people He is going to save and who He is not going to save. The entire responsibility for the matter rests on the individual. Jesus died to save everyone, not just a select few. The ones who reject the gospel message are choosing on their own to remain unsaved. God offers the same opportunity to each and every one of us and it is up to us whether we will accept Him or not. Everybody is "called by Christ" but we all decide whether to answer that call or not.

If beating them over the head would bring them to Christ that would be great. Because it would cause their soul to live eternally with God. However, one can not 'beat' Christ into another. One must study from the Bible to know Christ. You are therefore called by the Bible.

The way to turn people to Christianity is by example not by force. When you accuse people of living in sin or shovel it down their throat, it makes them resentful. If someone choses this approach, you will be viewed as a hypocrit (since we are all sinful). A better aproach is to live a Christian life ( a life of service, forgiveness, gratefullness, and love). Others will see and wonder what you have. They will seek to understand as Christ uses you to call them because our souls long to reunite with him.

I am soooo tired of people categorizing all Christians as bible thumping! All of us DO NOT push Christ down peoples throats! I beleive in Christ and I live through his teachings, I am 29 go to church almost every week and try to live life as good as I can. I beleive that the people who get offended by Christians are people who live life in the wrong way and know that they do so they get deffensive. I beleive this because I once was someone who hated all religous types! It is not good to generalize!

Thank you, yes, I agree. Maybe I wouldn't have put it like that but I am tired of people here trying to brow-beat people into heaven.

Show of hands: How many Christians here came to Christ because someone had lots of arguements with them?

Uh hunh. That's what I thought, none of you. I know that I came to Christ because Christians hugged me when i was starved for human affection with no strings attached.

Preaching the Gospel of love is not brow-beating people with arguements.

A very VERY wise man once said " You will know that they are my diciples by their actions." It is not how you tell someone about Christ as much as it is what you do while letting Christ lead your way. If you are a true CHRISTIAN you will not have to seek out people "preach" too, they will come to you!!!
