My neighbor is not taking care of their dog. It is a shi-tzu mix with a golfball size swelling on it's front paw. I've called animal control and 911 about it. They aren't doing anything about it. Is there anyone else I can call?

These are the type of people who have a dog, just to have a dog. They don't really want to take care of it, or else they would have taken him to the vet already. They let him run loose in their yard all day so when I drive by, he runs out in front of my car and I have to slam on my brakes so I don't hit him. I'm getting to my wits' end with them. I've asked them to stop letting him run loose, but they don't care.

I am not a radical but I do believe that Human Beings are responsible for animal husbandry and welfare.

Try these,

http://www.peta.org/
http://www.animal-rights.com/
http://www.zmag.org/animal_rights_watch.htm

There are many more resources available on the Inet.
Just do a Google on "animal rights"

Have fun but be safe.

Well, have you talked to your neighbors about it? Maybe you should take it to the vet, and then have them look at it- I have seen Animal Cops Houston and most of the neighbors do it and then give the vet bill to your neighbor.

Talk to your local Vet and ask them what steps you can take. they kno the ins and outs better than anyone. Good Luck..It a cruel world out there..I'm sorry you have this issue.

Call the SPCA . Why do they not take care of him? Do they not want the dog? maybe you could ask them if you could have him.

Your local area humane society generally has cruelty investigators. You may want to check with them.

the only thing i can think of since no one wants to help you is for you to take the dog yourself...seems like this is going to be the only way to help the poor little thing

If animal control or the cops won't do anything, contact peta.org.
