Take him to the Emergency Animal Care Center. If you call the number for your regular vet, the recording should give you a number to call.

You really must take the dog to an Emergency Clinic IMMEDIATELY!!
At the point that you realized what your dog has; even with vet treatment your dog only has a 50% chance of living and it will run you about $300-$500 to treat the dog.
The ONLY thing that you can do at home is to give the dog PEPTO-BISMUAL just like humans take (Go by pounds and give dose according to the human child index on the bottle).
And give the dog all the Gatorade that you can possible give him.
Your dog will lose all of it's weight and it's ribs will show in about 24 hours of you noticing the illness.
The dog actually dies from dehydration from the diarrhea.
You MUST stop the diarrhea and rehydrate the dog with GATORADE!!
But if you can afford to take it to the vet then get up RIGHT NOW AND GO!
Parvo is a virus that is in the ground. It lives for 7 years in the ground once an infected animal has pooped in the yard.
As long as a puppy is on it's mother's milk, the milk provides protection from the virus...but after it has been weaned than there is no protection anymore.
In the future if you get another dog or puppy, before bringing it home you MUST have it's preventative shots done at the vet's office while it is still a pup and on it's mother's milk.
I am very sorry to have to give you such bad news.
Prepare yourself...even with treatment your dog probably won't make it. I'm Very Sorry.

parvoguard overnight shipment to u costs around 35.00
there is always an emergency vet to contact. call ur vets number and most have an after hour number to call for emergencies. If your dog has parvo it will die by the time tuesday comes if not treated now. The parvo virus itself does not kill the dog it is the dehydration that kills it. Get some pedialyte from the grocery store and keep fluids down your dog. R u sure it is parvo, worms will react the same way if it is hookworms or roundworms.

You need to go to an emergency vet--ASAP. There is no other answer. Parvo is almost ALWAYS deadly. Your dog needs to be on IV fluids and antibiotics. If you keep the dog at home, you can expect it to die. Even if the dog lived over the severe dehydration, it would most likely die from a secondary infection in the intenstines, where all the lining will have been lost.
Look for the nearest emergency vet in the yellow pages or listen to the recording on your vet's phone. Usually they will refer you to an emergency clinic when they are closed.
Do this NOW. Time is of the essence. What you are dealing with is truly and EMERGENCY.

If your dog has parvo then the vet should be notified! Your dog needs to be hospitalized and if you wait until Tuesday it will die! All vets have after hours numbers you can call. Just call and get their recording and see what it tells you to do or call the vet at home - they should help you or give you a number to call to someone that can help you - good Luck

Dogs with parvo go downhill quickly if not treated. Find an emergency vet in your area and take the dog right away if you want to save it,.

You had better find another vet. Your dog will have to be given I.V. for a while. This is still not a for sure cure. Cats carry Parvo, but it doesn't hurt them. Too bad.

I know what your going thru, my puppy had it back in february. Its a very hard thing to get rid of, First you have to get the dog fast to an emergency clinic. they will give him medicine andtry to kill the disease. you also will have to clean your house with parvo killer spray that the vet can give you. also bleach water helps also.. the most important thing is get him in now!! he will only get worse without treatment. Dogs dont usually make it to long unless you get him help now.. It is a little expensive but the dog is worth it and in the long run you will be glad you did.. good luck

There's no at home cure. Your vet's answering machine or service should be able to provide you with the name of a local emergency vet who can help you. Also check your local yellow pages for emergency vet services.

The best bet you have it to give it Gatorade, it keeps the dogs hydrated. that is what kills the dogs with Parvo, not the Parvo. Good Luck
