then provide the source of your data and interpretation of that data in relation to the other things affecting earth's climate -- not just isolated facts. (Do not quote Al Gore's movie.)

Obviously some of you are not really thinkers:

1. Not ALL scientists agree with the theory;
2. Just because a large organization officially supports one position does not mean every scientist in that organization supports that position;
3. In the past official scientific groups have supported "the earth is flat", "the earth is the center of the solar system", "man cannot exceed 25-30 miles per hour", etc. so the fact that a scientific group supports a position doesn't prove it's true;
4. The EPA cannot even figure out (after billions of taxpayers dollars, and decades of study) how to fix some "Superfund" sites or what exactly the problem is with those sites, so why would you use them as a credible reference?

Obviously there are some who think a hurricane and a drought are once-in-a-lifetime events. The history of the world is full of records of both! Stupid people living below sea level is what raised the cost of Hurricane Katrina so much -- not global warming.

For Mike Dub: Not everyone living below sea level in New Orleans was black, and not every black is descended from slaves. But stupid people are stupid people no matter what their skin color!

I don't think there is any doubt that human activity is a contributing factor to global warming. The use of fossil fuels and the large scale breeding of animals cause gasses such as methane and CO2 to be released into the atmosphere. This is a fact that can't be argued.

That being said, there is no proof that the elimination of these activities would do anything to stop global warming. In fact, we know that wheather on our planet is cyclical. We know that there have been several ice ages in the past, the last one having ended only 10 000 years or so ago. At that time the northern polar cap would have extended well into the Uninted states, and Canada would have been almost entirely covered by winter.

We know this massive climat change would have likely been the cause of mass extinctions and environmental changes that we can only imagin now. This had nothing to do with the activities of man. That is not to say that humans are blameless for damage being done to our environment, and certainly doesn't let us off the hook for cleaning up our act.

There is no scientific proof that we cause global warming. There are only theories. The real question is, why, when half the people in the Uninted States believe in creation regardless of all the evidence to the contrary, are they so eager to believe we cause global warming. The evidence in nowhere near as solid.

Fortunately for us, Science, the west's chosen religion is likely to come up with solutions to problems like climate change and polution. Sooner or later the will to do something will outweigh the will not to and our world will be a better place for it, but nature will still try to have another ice age.

Maybe it's easier to think we're causing global warming than it is to think it's inevitable.

I am sorry that just because I believe something does not mean that I have to be an expert on all the facts and interpretations of the facts and be able to quote my sources. I can say however that I have a science and technology background and have no reason to disbelieve:
- the theoretical basis for global warming
- levels of the principle greenhouse gas, CO2 have risen by approx 30% in the last 150 years and are higher than they have been for hundreds of thousands of years (Antarctic ice cores)
- there is a significant upward trend in world temperatures

You will easily find this and masses more information if you google. I think the reputable overwhelming majority of the scientific community supports the proposition that man's activities are the major cause of global warming. Many governments have been mobilised into action. This does not happen without a lot of rigour in the checking of the science.

This is entirely my opinion based on articles i have read but I think that global warming is a naturally occurring event that the earth cycles through warming and cooling years over a several hundred year time span. The environment is much more resilient than modern media has portrayed and the effect of man on the environment is very minimal on a global scale. I recommend a book on the subject that that is a work of fiction based on facts by Michael Crichton called "State of Fear" which illustrates this and in the back of the book Michael gives an editorial of his research for the book and his own conclusions about this subject.

Given all the information, that's somewhat sparkling that that's synthetic to a definite quantity. the only think of you will possibly desire to be skeptical approximately is the predictions for destiny worldwide warming in accordance with computing device simulations. the undertaking is, those simulations are based on the Naiver-Stokes equations for a rotating sphere, so as that they are way too oversimplified for modelling a very chaotic gadget such because of the fact the earth's climate. in actuality, a modern-day study confirmed that the predictions made weren't consistent with climate exchange over the final 10 years, so the predictions are incorrect (seek google pupil). regrettably, there are a number of politicians who're attempting to push regulations in accordance with those apocalyptic predictions.

The demonstrable fact of the matter is that the radiant output of the Sun has increased by several percent in the last hundred years. Does anybody think **that** might (just maybe) have something to do with Global Warming?

Global Warming is a myth. When all the glaciers "melt" they say it will increase the worlds waters but.... a simple study of chemistry shows that solids have more mass than liquids so the mass will go down; the counter is as easy as that, so man is not causing "Global Warming"
