Okay I get my license in 3 days and I live in IL and I just need to know after how many months I can have more than 1 "friend" in the car. I know I can have my brothers and sisters plus 1 friend/cousin but how many months until I can have 4 friends in the car or as many friends as I have seatbelts. Because sometimes my aunt said she'll need me to pick up her kids and I'll have to make several trips to pick them up. Thanks a bunch ♥

It depends upon your age.

"For the first six months of licensing, or until the driver is age 18, whichever occurs first, the number of passengers is limited to one person under age 20, unless the additional passenger(s) is a sibling, step-sibling, child or step-child of the driver. After this period, the number of passengers is limited to one in the front seat and the number of safety belts in the back seat "

I dont know about IL but here in Nebraska it is one year... and it is restricted driving late at night as well! Be careful with people in the car... It can be VERY distracting with friends in the car... stereo loud... phone ringing... etc... Also, always turn the radio OFF while in reverse! When I was 16 I backed into a car in a parking lot. I had my radio so loud I did not hear him Honking his Horn at me! Embarrassing... and expensive!

Does the limit still apply if you have a Licensed driver in the car with you?
