Airplane food is notoriously bad and I get hungry all the time so I want to take something with me

Basically all food is allowed. Ive seen everything from apple sauce to crackers.
You can also buy beverages at the airport *when you pass the security checkpoint* and take it on board the aircraft with you, but it MUST be purchased in a secure area, that way the airline knows it is safe.
But as far as food is concerned...no worries.

I recently contacted the airline because I wanted to take beans that my mother makes home to my daughter and was told no way. Anything in a liquid will not be allowed on the plane.
I have also been told that things you buy past the security check point may not be allowed on the plane.
