I already have a Miniature Pinscher. She is 2 years old. She is a dominate dog. I was wondering if I got a another dog (a puppy) that she would start marking her territory again. Do you think that she would. She would never hurt a puppy she would just show it that she is the boss. Should I get a male or female? Thank You

If it's a puppy, your adult dog should be fine. And if both dogs are fixed, gender shouldn't be an issue either.

It doesn't sound right to just let one dog push the other around. Both of them need to feel equally loved. Its true that the older one is more experienced and trained, so it should be a role model. And if you would always hold the older one as ur favorite then maybe you shouldn't get another puppy. Just my opinion.

My male pug was neutered when we got our new puppy and he still try to mark his spot a lot for a while. He would go on our legs and on the new puppy he eventually gave up and quit doing it.

If you have a female get a male.
Never have two same sex dogs in the smae house as they will fight. It is called same sex aggression and it happens alot.
The best combination is always one male and one felmale.
Many times the female will be the dominant dog in the relationship.

Males tend to be more docile. The puppy will learn quickly that your other dog is the alpha dog.

With my personal experience, only males mark.
