If you lead a life of evil your whole life and before you die, you suddenly, miraculously see 'the light of God' and you become a believer, you ask for forgiveness. And your sins are washed away? Then why even bother with the notion of Hell?

Quick 2nd Part of thr Question:
Now why do you absolutely have to believe in Jesus as your God...
What is this mentality (and im noticing that it's actually very common) of only Christians are allowed into Heaven. Aren't we all God's children?

Then why bother with the notion of heaven too. All that brainwashing is corrupting the human spirit and people should know how to live a humble life wihout the need of a mythical book that causes so much death and war all over this earth. Thank you Jesus.

Because people don't "miraculously ask for forgiveness" and necessarily really mean it. You left the sense of true repentance and true need for forgiveness out, the true humbling before God...the kind you sometimes can have even when you're not on the brink of death.
This is not a request you can make without really committing yourself to pay the price of truly believing.

Ignoring the fact that there is no evidence of an afterlife outisde of human imagination...
Why would an all powerful, all knowing being create creatures that are flawed, then allow/create a situation where they would be destined to suffer after a limited life full of imperfect choices?
Why do people believe in a god that would cause hell to exsist for them then claim to be a perfect god? Sounds more like a human who decided to control people through fear of something they can't even see.
Death is what people really fear, hell is just a threat used to control their behavior while alive.

God knows are motives. When we ask for forgiveness he sees if we are truly sorry or just sorry we are getting in trouble. Besides that, what if you get killed suddenly? You don't always pray for forgiveness before you go for a drive in case you wreck do you? Being truly sorry for your sins involves turning away from your sins and not repeating them. However, it is very possible to find forgiveness on your death bed. But if you can't trust God when you are healthy, do you really think you would when you where in pain?

I believe the request for forgiveness must be genuine and done with true remorse. You can't trick God by planning to ask for forgiveness at the end so you can do as you please and still make it to heaven. Truly evil people do not have remorse and they can't fake it!
Have you ever noticed?
It seems pretty obvious to me that God exists and I know where he lives too. He lives in America's prisons. Every time a mass murderer, child molester/rapist/murderer finds himself in prison sentenced to death he finds God almost immediately. Could it be he is trying to sway public opinion and develop an army of supporters from among christian organizations and bleeding hearts to fight for his life for him? I think that is exactly what they are doing they are cunning, calculating, intelligent people who know how many gullible fools reside in our society.

Do you really think a single moment trumps a lifetime of doing what God commanded you NOT to? Those who are worthy and endure till the end are taken unto God ... not necessarily those who hallucinate out of fear, in their time of dying. - So then why not sin all our lives and hope we can take a moment to ask forgiveness just before we cross over? Like lets say, The Serial Killer just before he gets the lethal injection?

It's all about sincerity. If you truly do "see the light" and accept Christ into your heart, then why shouldn't you be forgiven? That's what is so awesome about God. He offers salvation to everyone that accepts Christ regardless of their past. But He knows the difference between someone who is sincere and someone who is giving lip service. You can't live a sinful life and suddenly be forgiven if you truly haven't changed. And God knows your heart.

Most people/religions don't believe in hell anymore. The church of England for example, changed their doctrine about 10 years ago stating that there is no hell, and that any non believers would just cease to exist.

Its not only asking for forgivness. You need to ask Jesus to be your personal Saviour.
You need to be aware of hell, so that you live life according to God so that you may reap the rewards that await in heaven.

strictly speaking, in christianity, the answer to your question is YES. but some people are worried that they may not have the time to repent before they die. if you live a life of evil your whole life and repent in the end, you will go to heaven "poor" as opposed to people who live a holy life going to heaven "rich".
