I am about to get a job working in the united states but have heard i will never be able to buy a house due to no credit even though i will make excellent money. How is this possible and isnt there private facilities that lend money as there are in canada ....

Since I have done this twice, let me fill you in. It's true when you cross into the US you will have to re-establish credit. Your best bet is to open a checking & savings account with a US bank. It will take about 6 months US residency and the bank will propbaly make a small loan to you but becareful not to apply to any and every offer for a credit card because that looks bad on your credit report.

Yes, its true....My husband is from Mexico...He got a secured credit card, any bank here will give you one....He now has excellent credit....Hope this helps!
