NEVER use a shampoo that is meant for humans on a dog, their skin is very different then our own and can make problems worse. The best choice is any DOG shampoo that is oatmeal based and non-hypoallergenic.......not always a good idea to get the flavored scented ones such as apple for example. You could easily find a doggy shampoo such as this at any pet store, probably even your local wal-mart or grocery store.

Also it might be a good idea to contact your dogs vet, it could be more than just a case of dandruff and they have prescription and medicated shampoos in the office that they could give you.

Good luck

At the vet's office, we use Joy dish soap. We dilute it with water, of course. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind it, but the dogs come out pretty clean. It's in a very rural community, too, so we get a lot of dogs that either need a deep scrubbing or have a skin condition. During one of our seminars, the speaker also mentioned the name of a dog shampoo: Highlight. Or it could have been Highlights. Either way, it's probably a bit pricey, but it's worth it because it won't strip too many of their natural oils or flea/tick medicine off.

It is at the vet's office, it is a shampoo and conditioner mix, it works great, it is wonderful stuff, even the vet and their staff use it on their dogs, sorry, don't remember the name, but it is a blue shampoo, oatmeal based.

I have to get my dog's shampoo at his vet. He has skin allergies and can use no shampoo except what his vet mixes. I have to shampoo and condition him twice a week, so if you dog has skin problems go to your vet and vet will mix the correct ingredients.

don't use any human shampoo. Dogs skin is more sensitive than humans. go to your local petsmart and ask the groomers their suggestion. most won't cost over $8.00

just use johnson and johnsons baby shampoo... my dog loves it, and it doesn't hurt his eyes.... and it is very well ph balanced so it won't cause dry skin!!! believe me, it's the best thing out there for the pooch in your life!!!! :)

____ DON'T USE HEAD AND SHOULDERS!!!! it's abrasive, and will burn your dogs eyes and very sensitive skin!!!!!!
