I keep reading from the fundos (you know the people who "know" god's will) that you have to accept Jesus or you don't go to heaven.

What about being good for the reward of making life better for your fellow human? F*uck heaven - why can't we all just be good for goodness's sake?
Is the carrot on a stick of heaven really that important?

Is a heaven who doesn't accept a loving kind person who rejected the magic of Jesus (due to the bibles inconsitency and the church's hypocricy) any heaven at all?

I'm for living a good life here, I don't want to wait for some imagined reward.

You obviously have given this some thought, and have come to grips with reality to some extent, but not totally. There have always been hypocrites, both in and outside of religion, so that should not even enter into your equation; they are just an unfortuante fact of life. Rather you should focus on the essentials. Such as "If Jesus really existed, why? And if He is the Lord of Heaven, then what does He have to say about it? Stuff like that.

If you will read the new testament prayerfully you will see that it is really quite consistent, NOT inconsistrent as God haters and mockers would have you to believe.

There is an interesting case made by Paul in the book of Romans (chapter 2) for "being good for goodness's sake" where he states that people who have never heard of the rules of heaven (10 commandments) will be justified because they kept them anyway because their nature (their heart) was to do so. And people who KNEW the rules and did not keep them (Religious hypocrites) would be condemned. So it is about essence: If a person is living the life of Christ but does not know the proper name, do you really think that God does not recognize the spirit of Christ in that person??? God is no respector of persons and every man shall reap what he has sown.

It's not the bibles inconsitency or God's it's your and your messed up outlook on life. Just because your an angry person who hates yourself and God doesn't mean your right. If you knew anything you would know that if you have a real relationship with God you will go to the extereme to make other peoples life better .Even though i do that that is not why i'm going to heaven Accepting Jesus is the only way so deal with it God's rule you either play the game by the rules or suffer the consequences the choice is yours. I have a great life here but in heaven i will be free from all. So if you beelive your ife will change if not it's on you!!

If you read the Bible with an open mind, and real look at what the MAN said, when it came time to judge who was a GOAT and who was a SHEEP the choice was made on what people had done dd you see me naked and cloth me,hungry and feed me,then you are a SHEEP, . He SAID WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THE LEAST OF MY BREATHE RN YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME. I know that I have in my life made mistakes, I know that I have bean forgiven for those, and I try to be better because that makes my life as a whole work better.Who gets in to heaven is not up to ME.I don't think GOD is going to ask the fundos either.by the way the people Jesus really yelled at were the establishment types the blind leading the blind ,hypocrites, lie rs,fools ,ect.........

Accepting Jesus Christ as entrance to Heaven is a relatively new teaching in Christianity, probably about 30 - years old. Prior to that, like when I became a Christian 60 years ago we were taught that we were sinners and we needed to come to God, confess our sins and plea for mercy. We did not accept Him, He accepted us, which is what the Bible teaches. This new system which is called "easy believeism" is no guarantee of salvation and I think it is why the world is so critical of Christians today. They (Christians) talk a big deal, but their lives are not much different from the average non Christian and they do all the things non Christians do. True Christians live righteous lives, Jesus said, "If you love Me you will keep My commandments."

It's better to do good while you're here on Earth. To do good, to help others around you, to act out of love for the Creator (not fear of punishment), and love of Mankind, is far more powerful.

As Christ said, "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you." and elsewhere "Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all other things will be added unto you." "Love one another, as I have loved you." "No greater love than this that a man has, than to lay down his life for his friends." "Faith without works, is dead."
Christ was not a wimp. Remember how He treated the moneychangers in the Temple!
Remember that Christ said of the Pharisees, who knew their prayers backwards and forwards, and pretended to be holy, that they were vipers and hypocrites. Kind of like today!!

Good question :-)

Your question appears to be in accordance with humanism: a philosophy that espouses the basic good in humans and the value of living a good life that benefits others.

Here's a the "about" statement from the American Humanist Association: "Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity."

That is true, if you don't accept Jesus as your saviour you will not go to heaven.
If you live according to the command of the bible, your fleshly life will be good, not easy, but good.
There is inconsistency with bibles because people rewrite them.
Keep the King James handy.

I will receive rewards in both lives - here on earth and in heaven. I believe that's important.
