I wouldn't suggest going down the yoga path all by your lonesome. I'm a yoga teacher in your case, I'd suggest going either to a studio or getting one on one classes. A small investment upstream will definitely benefit you long term downstream.
A studio (as opposed to a gym) will help because usually the classes are smaller. Call in advance to find out how big the class sizes are. When you're there, tell your teacher what your problems are. A good teacher will help tailor the class to your needs. Listen and look out for the cues.
A one on one session is more expensive but you'll get a lot of personal attention and you'll know in no time what the right moves are.
www.Craigslist.org would be a good site to find a yoga instructor or even yoga classes. Or go to google maps and look under "Find Businesses" and type in yoga in your zipcode.
Hope this helps.
Namaste.

I have a bad back just naturally, with fused bones and tight hamstrings and all kinds of things. I really recommend you take classes at a gym or a yoga place (a yoga place would be best). You can explain your injuries to the instructor, and they can tell how to adapt the poses so you don't hurt yourself. Yoga is fantastic for the back muscles and a great overall workout, but you'll probably need to adjust things for a while until you get into it.

You get out of it what you place into it. in case you do it each and on a daily basis, you will see consequences speedier than in case you do it as quickly as a week. I even have been doing yoga for 30 years. I do a elementary set each and on a daily basis, it purely takes approximately quarter-hour, in spite of the shown fact that it retains me stretched, comfortable and limber. the main suitable yoga I ever did grew to become into Kundalini yoga and it grew to become into additionally the main complicated, yet had the main dramatic consequences. I did it each and on a daily basis for some month in the previous i honestly began observed the outcomes, that have been dramatic. It worked on my nervous equipment at a time in my life while i grew to become into experiencing various uncontrollable united statesand downs. After a month of the yoga, i grew to become into as calm and typical as could desire to be, not something afflicted me, yet not something rather excited me the two, yet that grew to become into lots maximum appropriate to what i grew to become into dealing with before. If I had to % one and one purely form of "well-being" it would be yoga.

First, get yourself a comfortable mat to do your exercises on. Then check out this site... seems fairly complete: http://www.sivananda.org/
